I've been mulling this over. Kulich, Dahlin, Benson, Norris all out. You're heading towards a top 10 and potentially top 5 pick, do you retool now to be ready to go next year?

Hire a new GM and let him bring in a coaching staff before a complete explosion.  If retooling I’d see what I can get for TT, OP, and BB.  Build an identity.

Didn't Cody McCormick hang em up for the same reason?

This would be a fine time for the GM to go out and make a trade to try to save the season, but I also feel like GMKA is a dead man walking and he's not the guy I want making any moves. The season feels like it's over and it's not even Thanksgiving yet.

I think it’s depends on where that clot is and how long the player expects to be on anticoagulation. If this is to his pulmonary tree or threatening his brain, he’ll be on anticoagulants for an awful long time. Someone playing a contact sport at the professional level shouldn’t be on anticoagulants.

What’s with the blood clots with NHL and NBA players all of a sudden? Kulich is at least the third NHL player this year and I know that “Wem” and a few lessor players were diagnosed in the NBA last year.

When Chris Bosh first had to retire due to them it seemed like an anomaly, now it seems rather common.

It's like we're the can that never stops being kicked.  Even w/ out a #1 center, we've been somewhat competitive this season, and now this.   This is beyond being cursed.

Coupled with Dahlin's fiancée's situation it's simply unbelievable.

Yes, McCormick's career ended due to blood clots, which was a tough loss for the Sabres at the time because he was really just starting to find his game. The clot started in his calf and worked its way to his lung.

I hope Kulich makes a full recovery and is able to successfully treat the condition.

This maybe the only way to end this curse explosion GIF

Yeah.. because it's clear Peyton Manning and Josh Allen accomplished nothing.

Ahem... Hockey gods. It's this kinda talk that put us where we are now.

The only way we beat this is to go all in at the trade deadline and have Inky smoke his stuff. All his stuff.

Kulich has a blood clot issue, never heard of this as a sports injury.   Zucker with a viral infection or something.  Benson with puck to face, now foot injury.  Ellis back twinge.  Glass-man Norris gets hurt taking a faceoff.  Dahlin's fiancée.  UPL/Danforth/Kesselring/Power/Greenway/Kozak.

How are we going to end the drought?

After the poor 3 game start (with defensive injuries decimating the team), Ruff had them playing competitive hockey, and now the offense is decimated by injuries and their top player is out due to a family issue.  I think the guys are mentally exhausted and may be throwing in the towel a little bit.  I'm just not sure how much longer this lineup can keep the team within a few points of playoff position.  It's very difficult to play hard and put your body on the line (blocking shots, etc.) when the team is so depleted that it has almost no chance of winning a game.  It's truly paddling upstream.  I haven't given up watching...yet...but I just don't see how the lineup, as presently constituted, can complete against good NHL teams.  I'm not making excuses for the team's terrible play, but trying to take a realistic look at the situation.  Given the years of failure, the team's psyche was fragile to begin with, yet they played hard and stayed (barely) above water.  That fragile psyche may now be shattered.
