I saw it... he did not look good... he was shaking and discombobulated... I am not making fun, but he just didnt seem like he knew what was up...  that said, Terry is one of his bosses... I am not thinking he is gonna be like us and say Terry you su$% sell the team...  lol  although I would have loved it if he did... I was hoping for the we expect all of our franchises to compete and 15 years is way too long .. or something... but he corporate lined it.

It’s taking “a bit longer”?  Huh?  Who does he think he is addressing?  JFC the Pegula trainwreck has lost an entire generation of fans.  “A bit longer”…how about “a freakin’ eternity”. 😡😡😡😡

Bettman, definitely has some Parkinson’s going on. Not sure I would call Terry a great owner. Take Allen off the Bills and they are towards the bottom of the league. The Sabres ever since he brought the team have been a dumpster fire and are unwatchable. Players don’t want to play here unless being overpaid.

I felt kinda bad seeing Bettman like that, shaking.  It reminded me of my father-in-law...who suffered from Parkinson's for several years before he passed away back in January.

Anyway,  Bettman understood fully what was being asked but what's he gonna say publicly, yeah Terry sucks as an NHL owner?!?  I'm sure he's disappointed as we all are.

Gary knows he isn’t a “terrific” owner, he isn’t even close.  Everyone knows Terry and Kevyn are miles over their heads in the NHL.

Terry probably knows it too but for some unknown reason he isn’t taking action yet.

The decision to institute the lottery system for the draft is what screwed the Sabres. Gary knows it, we know it, rest assured Edmonton knows it.

Teams purposefully losing is a bad thing.  The Sabres did it dirty and went way too far.   Nolan kept trying to win so they traded his goalies.  Some fans booed wins.  That was all regrettable.

The irony is that the Sabres two consolation prizes have cups on other teams.

I have a hard time thinking if the sabers treated Eichel better that he still wouldn't be here.

And I think if he was still here there's a good chance Reinhart would still be here.

You'd still have Dahlin and Tage...

All that was under the team's control. Add The possibility of Ulmark.... And not only is your playoff drought likely no longer here, you might very well be a contender for more.

I personally believe the whole thing started with Pegula being cheap. If Eichel was going to get his own choice of surgery, I think there was a story that that wouldn't be covered under the team's insurance for his contract. Terry didn't want the chance of being on the hook for his contract if something went wrong... so he was traded, and that started the string of Domino's falling.

That is what I choose to believe, reinforced after the "Pegula family lifestyle" incident.

The greed to hang around for money is an amazing drug.

Bettman, Jerry Jones to name a couple.

Is it greed or hubris?

The league has grown its footprint substantially under Bettman's tenure and its revenues.  Is it that he feels he needs more or that he mistakenly believes he's the only one that could've made it happen?  The NHL's grown its footprint more than his former boss' league did since he swapped from bouncey ball to puck.  Wouldn't be at all surprised to find he believes that's because he switched leagues.

Terry had some really good pieces and he chose to promote Adams from Business Admin to the top Hockey Operations job to manage it for him.

It is hard for me to believe that Terry was not 100% behind getting Eichel out.   After that the mantra of "wanting people who want to be here" went way too far and to the point of detrimental.

Both Eichel and Reinhardt went to already veteran established rosters with their own star power. Buffalo did raise it to the ground for a rebuild, but those 2 were supposed to be the star power, sadly they weren’t enough.

If we had drafted McDavid, I can’t say we’d of been any better, but it would have made a 20 yr re-union winter classic game interesting if Crosby was still on the Pens roster.

Sure. But in a proper rebuild you support and build around the young star talent with veterans with some miles left that are also true leaders.  You don't trade for troublemakers that teams are dumping.   Inexperienced GMs like Murray and Boterill did many things wrong.  Adams is proving to be even worse.

If this season is like the last one there is no reason that we will see Adams or Ruff next season.  They should be replaced, not moved up in the organization.

Terry has to find a relevant, respected, and capable GM, open the wallet and get out of the way.  Another poor season means blow it up and restart once again.
