And the Islanders' transition? They were on the outside looking in, behind the Sabres, on Jan. 30, the day of the trade. They are 14-6-4 since and about to clinch. Of course that's better than buffalo has, but he's not worth singling out over 12 others (or more) He has a team that tends to play poorly in front of the best goaltending in the league. Horvat putting up Beauvillier like numbers is not the reason, it’s all about Sorokin. The team has a +31 goal differential. I'm guessing he'll probably hang 'em up after this season and pretty darn good (if ratty) career. Watching Perry against the Sabres this season, no amount of toughness or intangibles was going to help him keep up with their speed. (Perhaps in the playoffs he'll be allowed to grab and hang on to every jersey in sight, but even that may not be enough.
