I read a story about Bo Horvat’s transition to the Islanders.

11 points in 24 games since the trade, oof.

And the Islanders' transition? They were on the outside looking in, behind the Sabres, on Jan. 30, the day of the trade.

They are 14-6-4 since and about to clinch.

Lou's an NHL GM who wears big boy pants (sure, over Depends, but still).

Lou is the gm of a team that is incapable of doing anything of note in the playoffs this year. Of course that's better than buffalo has, but he's not worth singling out over 12 others (or more)

He has a team that tends to play poorly in front of the best goaltending in the league. Wao

The Isles probably get to the dance, I’ll give Lou that. Horvat putting up Beauvillier like numbers is not the reason, it’s all about Sorokin.

Lou won’t be around to see the end of that 8x$8.5 deal.

He went down hill so fast

There may be injuries involved, but once you lose a step it can get ugly fast. Watching Perry against the Sabres this season, no amount of toughness or intangibles was going to help him keep up with their speed. (Perhaps in the playoffs he'll be allowed to grab and hang on to every jersey in sight, but even that may not be enough. Opposition coaches will be double-shifting their top lines or throwing their speedy guys over the boards as soon as he steps onto the ice.)

Bruins 1 Pens 1 halfway through the first.

Bergeron out today.

Bruins have been the better team so far, and by a huge margin. I hope they put the Pens away in short order.

Feels like it could get out of hand pretty quickly…if they don’t let the Pens stick around.

Sabres should see if they can get Swayman

he’s an RFA and is in line for a big raise.  Bruins May not be able to afford him

Comrie (or UPL) and a draft pick or two (not a first rounder) for Swayman? Who says no?

Ullmark has looked better because of the team in front of him.  That same could be said for Swayman.  So...no.
