  1. 1. From what you know now, would you

    • Keep him with the Sabres no matter what. He is the 2nd overall pick he belongs here.
      2
    • Keep him with the Sabres as long as he doesn't look totally out of place.

    • Keep him with the Sabres only if it is clear is he is one of the best 6 forwards RIGHT NOW.

    • Send him to Juniors no matter what. The team doesn't need him now, and he will be better in the long run with a year in Juniors to get stronger and play top minutes every game.

Big points

Needs to add strength.

Happy with his skill and hockey sense.

Realizes that he has done everything he can in WHL, but being here playing 4th Line Minutes is worse for him.

Was emotional leaving the building.

The CHL restriction is such a joke. This kid belongs in the A.

Juniors is perfect for an 18-19 year old. The AHL is for grown men, if they start adding these undersized kids to the AHL, you're going to see the number of injuries go up. It's a very physical league played by strong men, not kids. Once the kid starts to get some man strength at 20-21, they yeah, send him to the AHL.

This has already happened with the Sabres. Both Girgensons and Risto were concussed in the AHL as 18 year olds. Samson caught a shoulder in the face last night and it's a damn miracle he wasn't hurt on it.

I thought he did fine in this stint but I'm glad he's on his way back to the WHL.
