My wife wants us to get matching ones. She would get: { } and I would get < />

In web development land, style/design code goes in the braces (css), and functional code goes in the angle brackets (html/php/javascript).

I am afraid of tattoos.

haha that's awesome.

I'd be covered in tattoos if they were easier removed. What I love now may not be what I love when I'm older and have popped out some kids and got things saggin' and baggin' all over. I'd doodle all over myself and others. I've never even had the guts to dye my hair- it's too obvious.

Well the consensus so far is that you'll be an undesirable looking freak if you get one so there's that.

Only by the dudes, the ladies have responded that they have them, so presumably they'd be cool with them. Neither my wife nor I have any. I'm trying to think of something that even 10 years ago would have been important enough to me that I'd still want on me, and I'm having a tough time of it. The only one that has stuck in serious consideration has been the BSD daemon. Yeah, I'm that geek.

It's not the permanence that worries me. I've been with the same girl since I was 15 (I'm 31), I have no fear of commitment to something. But I can barely sit still for a hair cut, my angle brackets would end up as braces from my squirming.

That's awesome. As far the sitting still thing, I would think that wouldn't take very long since it would presumably be small and is just an outline (no colors or areas to fill in). It will hurt, though.

Nice.

My friend has the Linux penguin and cords in a celtic knot on his back with other operating system stuff. He's albino - the picture of it shows up on tattoo sites quite often. He's got other techy symbols on his forearm- he works as a Penetration Tester (best name ever) for the gov- tries to hack in and show them how to better protect the areas he was able to get into. His ex gf/my best friend here in upstate has the mac power on symbol, and... well, the firewire and usb symbols are in an interesting place, too. Amongst dozens others.

It feels like a combo of tickling and occasional pain- like a big fuzzy bumblebee is aggressively snuggling you. Depends on where, too.

I hate crowded bars. Or crowded anything for that matter. I love hitting the local pub for lunch on a Sunday. Me, the bartender, and just a couple of the regular crowd.

Maybe I'm a little too picky, but for the most part, I want no part of any place where I have to raise my voice in order to be heard. There are obvious exceptions like sporting events, but I generally stick to that rule. If I'm looking for a place to have a drink, I'm a bit sick of the crowded and loud places. I'll gladly stick to the house or outdoor patio setting for drinks.

That's pretty awesome. Maybe I'd go with the Tech-Coexist:

And, oddly enough, I've done Penetration Testing (heh heh heh) as well, but for a commercial company. It's something I've been thinking of doing full-time.

Amen. I've always hated crowds, but that hatred rose exponentially since I've had to deal with a blind left side. If I ever get caught in a situation where I have no choice but to enter crowded area, my wife instinctively gets on my left and doesn't leave my side.

Yeah, my friend is still doing it full time I believe. He's 23, and thinking about actually going to college. The piece of paper that says he has a tech degree will open just a few more doors that he needs opened. He has a GED and is so good at computer tinkering that he lives very very well as it is. He makes a ton of money. It can be pretty high stress, though. He'll pull 72 hour crisis benders sometimes if a server busts and whatnot. But, being albino, not like he'll ever have to worry about white hairs...

My studio mate/tattoo artist friend has been trying to find someone to put his hate symbol Coexist on.... it's got swastikas and middle fingers and is generally super offensive. He has it as a bumper sticker and slaps it on cars that park stupidly.

I'm 0-2 in hypothetical wagers today....

I'm willing to have a wager with Eleven. If Lindy Ruff wins a Stanley Cup as head coach before Tortorella, I would get a portrait of Lindy tattooed on my shoulder. Vice-versa.

I have no tattoos, but am not opposed. It seems they used to mean something back when, and became cliché with all the sleeves and barbs and such.

I don't mind having to speak a little louder but I'm not a big fan of seeing cover bands in bars. They're too loud and oftentimes aren't that good. But if it's din of a bar full of people, I'm okay with it.

One of the reasons I have a regular spot I go is that I've gotten to know all the bartenders pretty well - several of us have hung out away from the bar. And the advantage in that is that I absolutely HATE waiting for a drink. And when your friends are the bartenders, you don't have to.

My sister and I always talked about getting the same tat: dog tags down our sides with mom and grandpa's name and rank. Each had 30+ years of service in the US Army. Only tat I would ever even think about getting (it was my sisters idea), and she already has a rendering of what we (she) wants. My girlfriend isn't opposed either.

I'd like to talk about the basics first, food, shelter, and water.

1. For shelter, my dream is to have a well-placed apartment in the city, and a home or cottage in the country. I am about to fulfill this dream, but now that I'm close to attaining it, I've still got the idea of moving up in both directions. Ever upward, excelsior, man is never content, but it's going to be cool. Buffalo, and its countryside might be the coolest, but it's a chicken or the egg thing with me. Do I live there because Buffalo is cool?, or is Buffalo cool, because I live there???

2. For food, I could be a pescatarian. I love sardines, and I love citrus fruit. I've worked as an organic farmer for 7 years, and believe that Lake Erie will provide us food in my lifetime, and I think that the whole Jesus fish and bread thing was a metaphor for the most important, healthy, and efficient foods. Also, salad is best with 3 chicken wings hidden on the bottom.

3. For water, I've been drinking selzer water, sometimes mineral water, for about ten years. Why isn't there just a guy that comes out to your house to fill your c02 tank so that your drinking tap is carbonated?

OK, now that I've covered the basics, I am going to get more personal.

4. I've not been incarnated this time as a Russian, or as a Ukranian, but like a lot of other Buffalonians, I'm a mix of German, Irish, and English heritage. I was a Russian minor in college, this time around, so that gave Yuri a chance to reconnect with the past and connect with the present. I have a lot of experience with Shakespeare, but I've got a lot of affinity for Steinbeck, and I've been mired in the lower working classes for over a decade. If I were more of a Lenin, I might have made something of myself, but here I am in comments section!!!

5. I lived in St Petersburg, Russia for 6 months, but I lived in a semi-communistic setting in Buffalo for over a year in the past. I think that the Buffalo setting was more communistic, as we had weekly meetings and made decisions by a modified consensus. We shared our money and food, and it was like the MTV Real World with slightly less narcissism. So, Allentown communism is more hardcore, and Russian communism is just heavy lameass socialism.

6. For many years, I've been fascinated with growing food, but I don't even feel that I've mastered my own personal diet, and I am convinced than one man can not grow his own food, and that a food utopia would be best with careful planning across an entire state.

Now I am going to cross the line, and become dangerous and vulnerable.

7. I loved growing marijuana on a semi-professional basis for a year and a half. I was good at it, and it was SOO rewarding, but when I had a child, I had to get out of the game, YET, I do not think that it is wrong, I just could not justify the potential of getting fined or arrested, yet I quit entirely, and don't smoke it anymore.

8. I think that I was targeted by some entities for my anti-fracking message board posts in early 2013 on sabrespace.com. I think that this targeting ended immediately after Snowden took flight, so I'm glad for that dude. I think he had brass balls, and I feel indebted to him. I ended up in psychiatric evaluation just before the Snowden thing, but I've always thought that mental health is can be more important than physical health, and it can most def. lead to total health.

9. I honestly think that Pegula has early ties to the mafia, but that the oil/gas game is a thing unto itself. I think that certain people have certain thought patterns, but have different moral compasses, so that bad motha######as can be on the side of good, or on the side of evil. I'm a bad motha######a on the side of good, so me and T-Pegs will have to work it out in the steel cage of Time.

Hmm. Not sure if I'm correctly grasping the concept of the thread, but here goes:

1. I am an only child. My father stopped being a father when I became a teen, and my mother died from cancer 7 years ago.

2. I have always been surrounded by "friends" my entire life, but have never felt truly connected to any of them, or like I've had a real friend. This has spanned thru a variety of different circles.

3. I believe that I could've played in the NHL, if I hadn't tore up my meniscus and suffered a concussion during a freak accident on a breakaway in a roller hockey game at Genesee Valley Rink when I was 13.

4. I was kicked out of high school, and never graduated. Yet, I was accepted into college after scoring 98th percentile on the entrance exam.

5. I have a teaching degree that I have never used. After college, I started working at a concert venue, which led me to being a booker, promoter, talent buyer, and touring around with bands. Sounds fun to some, but I'm glad that I've moved on.

6. I have met a lot of "famous" people - athletes, musicians, actors - and I don't care. It's no big deal to me.

7. I almost never smile. This leads to people assuming that I am angry, a murderer, or miserable, even when I'm happy. It gets annoying being asked what's wrong, even tho I am content with life.

8. I will likely never have kids, and I am okay with that.

9. I own, and have owned, a variety of pets. Dog, cat, cockatoo, cockatiel, lovebirds, quaker parrot, iguana, scorpion, chameleon, rabbit, and more - I love animals.

10. I feel like I post often on this board, but despite that, I don't feel like I am a part of your community.

I think that I can speak for All Buffalonians, when I say that Amerk, and Drunkard, and Campy have graduated from whatever NYC purgatory they may have been languishing in and can now flourish as true Buffalonians.

There are many current posters that I haven't granted such privileges, and that is because I am not some sort of grand poopah that goes about granting privileges about Buffalo. If it were my job, though, I'd be wondering what job Ed Kilgore is actually doing right now. That would be my 9-5. Ed Kilgore moved up to what job for East Management Resources in Pittsburgh? Ed Killmore? I'd revoke Ed Killmore's posting privilege if it were my job, but you'd all be safe.

My late, favourite cat was named after RJ's best call.

When I see a crowd running away from something, I tend to go toward whatever they are running from.

I've been violently thrown from the hood of a moving car, waterskied into a dock, and hit bottom diving 20 feet into shallow water, yet never broken a bone.

I believe the best thing a manager can do is put his people in a position to succeed.

I am deathly afraid of Alzheimer's.

Eleven is my number, has been for as long as I can remember. Same, oddly enough, for my wife.

My wife is my best friend. There is no one whose company I enjoy more than my kids. And my addition to Weave and Swamp's risk avoidance team happened when my family did.

Very little in this world is better than a hike through a damp, cool forest, then emerging to a breeze, the warm sun, and a spectacular view of the water.

Every year, I faithfully watch the Bills because I have to be there when that faith is finally rewarded.

Almost to a fault, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But take advantage of my people and I will not forget.

You are never going to see a fake me, but the real me isn't available to just anyone.

Life without music would be like food without taste.

I have never owned a dog, but I will.

I am uncomfortable with organized religion, but find the idea of God very comforting.

I don't like being part of a crowd - philosophically, or literally.

The essential question, always, is 'why?'

Wow....this has turned into a very nice exercise.

Almost to a 10....everyone that has posted here has some sort of mistrust/shyness/fear/commitment/etc. issue. That's what makes it a neat place. You can get "close" to people where you may not want to regularly. I will admit it myself. That may not mean it is the case for everyone, but the "I'll show you mine" theory has bonded people for eons.
