PerreaultForever Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Well they found a way to win so now false hope. Kevy keeps his job? If that's the case it's actually a terrible outcome. I was getting hyped for a Kev firing on Monday. As I was saying earlier Seattle has next to no offense. That Melanson kid was noticeable. Their Kuntar. 1 Quote

A goalie battling all night to keep the puck out of the net must give a huge shot of adrenaline to his players out in front of him. At the other end of the spectrum, when a goalie can never make the big saves to save a game, then the frustration is obvious that sets in for the players and things go south. That's the way it seems to have been for the Sabres all these years when they never had a real goalie. Whether or not he can keep it up, I really think Lyon has proven what stellar goal tending means to the spirits of an entire hockey team, something KA didn't seem to realize for way too many years. GASabresIUFAN Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago So the Sabres somehow finished 500 on the roadie. Shocking. They did play a solid game tonight and Lyon was very good. Hopefully this does not make TP reconsider his decision to promote Adams to Harbour Center Rink Manager. 1 Quote
Scottysabres Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I’m not worried about the Adams news, all I need do is look at the standings and know he should be gone, 3 wins in a row or not. 1 3 2 Quote
SABRES 0311 Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Lyon was outstanding. His win/loss does not do him justice. passing was really good tonight. Shout out to Bryson on this road trip. He’s been a good seventh dman. 3 1 Quote

And the Sabres still had to white-knuckle most of the the third period. Obviously I’ll take it, but it’s hard to get excited. Quote

Terry says, "STOP EVERYTHING! REVERSE THE WHOLE PLAN! WE JUST WON THREE IN A ROW! Yes, we're at the bottom of the division BUT WE JUST WON THREE IN A ROW! Nah dude, everyone knows the biggest confidence builder to a team is palm trees. Just see how many cups Florida has since 2000. I rest my case. Oh hey - If Kevyn DOES get fired.... I might be the next GM...!? 1 Quote

I do have complaints with the front office/GM of the Sabres. Why the different views? The body of work that goes beyond one game. This game demonstrated the importance of goaltending. Lyon was stellar. Hats 🎩 off to the team for playing hard throughout the last game of an extended road trip. Edited 1 hour ago by JohnC Quote
PASabreFan Posted 16 minutes ago Report Posted 16 minutes ago Lyon's the man. Shocker. In other news, you don't fire your GM in the midst of a heater. That's just the real world. Not if Dude is being offered up as a sacrifice. If it's a golden parachute as part of rumored reorganization, the announcement could come anytime. But you can get more bang for your buck when everyone is in a tizzy. Reality: it's not xmas yet, the Sabres are NHL .500, it feels like the season is starting anew. FTR they are 9-6 since ending their losing streak. Quote

HOW SILLY OF ME TO ACTUALLY THINK OF FIRING KA! Being at the bottom of the division, or even at the bottom of the entire conference, might matter a lot more if we were in the western conference where the bottom dweller is 26 points out of 1st place, but here in the eastern conference we are only 12 points out of 1st place and just 6 points out of 8th. With a goalie who plays as well as Lyons has played, there is really no limit as to how far this team can go. Do I think this justifies keeping KA? Absolutely not. Quote
