  1. I feel much younger now than this morning 😀
  2. Monahan is also very good on pp. I would be very excited having him on the team, but as mentioned above I expect him to sign in Winnipeg.
  3. I hope we can stay both safe and independent here in Finland and the baltic countries. Nice to hear you telling stories from Lituania and Latvia.
  4. As long as there is no clauses that makes trading difficult I am fine with 4milj. not more than that, he is not experienced enough.
  5. Conference finals: Carolina - Florida and Dallas - Edmonton
  6. Definitely a coming top 6 player in NHL. It is a while since I was this excited about a Finnish player. I compare him with Kaapo Kakko, but I think Helenius has easier to adjust to NHL than Kakko and the eye test say his compete level is higher. Compared to Sabres prospects I think Benson is closest, but it might be Benson is tougher close to the net.
  7. Yes, that is what I am thinking. KHL is not as good as it once was, but it is hard to make a guess how good since other european teams not play against them. But I think they still pay good players good money and that might be just as important as the possibility to play against the best players in the world. But for some young russian men sports is the possibility to get out of Russia. It can be both ways. A side track but still. I recently read a interview with Christian Ruuttu, where he told the story of Alexander Mogilny arriving to Buffalo. Unfortunately it was in Finnish, otherwise I would have shared it here. A lot of fun stories there.
  8. My concern with russian players is their patience. I am not convinced that Komarov will stay longer than two-three years in Rochester if he does not earn a spot in the Sabres line-up in that time.
  9. Read some ugly rumours sayin the players wanted Hakstol replaced.
  10. I have tried to see the trade in different ways, and this is the only thing that makes sence.
  11. Bryan Adams in Tampere and Springsteen in Helsinki in July.
  12. I order one Dakota Joshua and one Stefan Noesen please.
  13. He had Olli Jokinen as coach last season and Jokinen compared his forecheck and talent to read and break passes with Datsjuk!!!
  14. Barkov is this years Selke imo. Reinhard and Huberdeau, the reason why they put up the numbers they do/did is Barkov.
  15. Half of the quartet Savoie, Östlund, Rosén and Kulich will probably never get a permanent spot on the roster. But all of them are good enough to be full time NHLers. The hard thing is to evaluate who of them we need.
  16. I like this. I don't think it is harder than that either. But we probably will have to pay Lindholm more than Mitts asked for. On the other hand, EL playing at his best is one of the best two way centers in the league. We can't rely on Samuelsson staying healty. We need to get an option there and Zadorov is not that bad.
  17. I think the pp is too easy to read, it's like an open book. Tage need to find some new tools as a complement to the slapshot. Maybe unfair example, but looking att Kutcherov you never know where the puck will go until it leaves the blade. And there is no player that is really good in the "Hyman-area".
  18. I don't think they can afford signing both Reinhard and Montour, but I think one of them will stay. Has it ever before happened that a team not sign their 50 goal scorer? It might also of course depend on how close to lord Stanley they get this year, if they win I think they are more up for big changes.
  19. Hope he signs a big contract with Panthers so we can send them a couple of prospects in exchange for Lundell.
  20. Florida - Tampa 4-1 Toronto - Boston 4-2 Rangers - Capitals 4-0 Carolina - Islanders 4-3 Dallas - Vegas 4-3 Winnipeg - Colorado 4-3 Nashville - Vancouver 4-2 Edmonton - LA 4-1
  21. I can only imagine how dissapointed Adams must have been. He rewarded a coach after a good season and then when next season starts they are not ready to compete. And what to do then? I guess the timeline he had set as a GM allowed to watch and see how things develop. But of course he realize that next season will be his last as GM if development doesn't come. Still he doesn't fire Granato until after the season. To me it mens he has a huge amount of faith in the group of players and that he can get the complementary pieces and that they will end the draught next year.
  22. When thinking of how I would like the roster to be, there is not a spot there for Krebs except from as a 13th forward. I do not dislike him, he has done a good job, I just think the roster should be built up in a different way. I think there are teams and coaches that see him as a third line guy, but it is not with us.
  23. I find it interesting that Capitals and Predators are in the playoffs, not what I had expected. Also interesting that it is two teams with new coaches but also with really good AHL-teams.
  24. My first tought was Peca, and rather him than Ruff and Berube. I like Gallant and think he has the best odds if the most important criteria is to end the playoff draught.
