Perhaps my FAV team skit of all time 😃

Hence, my being compelled to get him an honorary club sweater

Besides, a sub goalie is ALWAYS good to have 😃

Only thing I'll say, NHL teams don't have a full book on Ellis and they'll get that sometime soon. Can he adjust when teams figure him out or not?

I don’t know, that save on Drai was a masterpiece. Book on him? If he keeps absorbing the puck, leaving little to no rebounds, i think he’ll do just fine as our starter.

Actually yeah.

Im compelled to wear facial hair

I'm cursed by my mom's "baby face"

Which gets old as one approaches their 50th

Plus, during the COVID pandemic facial hair is an automatic fail for the N95 fit test, so I was gifted a papper kit vs having my fat face mushed into those God awful respirator masks 😃

Man the oil looks aweful don’t they?

They are all about offense.  Their defense is not very good.  If you stymie their offense by hitting McJesus and his buddies at every opportunity, you can shut down that offense.  And after taking a pounding all game, they Eulers' star didn't have anything left in the tank at the end.  Realistically, they're what the Sabres were when Eichel carried the team.  They haven't managed to build a complete team behind him.

Good evening Teammates, I missed the game.

It was date night with the Mrs. Happy wife, happy life.  No truer words have ever been said.

Happy to see this final score.  I’ll watch it on demand.   Go Sabres!

Didn't really surprise me that they won this one. They have a habit of winning these type of games. I really don't think it means anything but you never know, they might get on a roll.

Kozak very impressive checking McJesus. That's the biggest encouraging takeaway I have from this one. If he can become a solid 2 way checker and not just a 4th liner we might just have filled a big hole.

Ellis was also very solid. It's way past time for KA to make the move and ditch UPL one way or another. It should be Ellis and Lyon until it's Ellis and Levi and that's it. Get it done you piece of crap moron GM.

While he's at it he can ditch Greenway as well. Absolute rubbish hockey player. Power still giving the puck away too much but when you win it doesn't matter.

Well, Det was certainly a test of his mettle IMO

In spite of the four goals given up, AND it being a 3 goal deficit, he didn't pout (*cough*cough* UPL) he continued to make important saves and did his part in turning that duster of a 1.5 period team effort into an improbable win

Something, I don't recall Uppie accomplishing?

If the Blues are THAT pi$$ed about losing him, logic states that he was likely near his end stage of grooming and they had him penciled as near-future netminder?

He may not be fully baked but me thinks he's done enough to be "edible"?

Are Blues pi$$ed enough that we should expect an offer sheet?

I don’t understand the Jack Quinn hate, truly

Last year was a disaster, the year before that was promising, and this year is building on that season from 2 years ago. He’s fast and skilled, he’s done more than enough to not be the first suggested guy to be taken out of the lineup.

Correct call Coach!

Good game by boys in Blue.

Still.
Fire.
Kevyn.
He doesn’t deserve this success, he has been an unbelievable failure as GM (in name only).

TP needs an intervention. Dude, you came in w ‘CUP!’ You obviously made it in oil & gas.

Hire talent to bring you the cup! Sabres fans will love (like NHL Commish) you after all this.

Put KA in charge as Palm tree& taxes CZAR. Trade him w UPL for future considerations. Whatever.

For myself, I have not come to a conclusion on Quinn. No hate, but no Benson-esque adoration. I saw him finish a check nicely tonight. He plays well with the skilled kids. Unlike Tommy Dangles, he shoots when he should shoot, passes when he should pass. He's not an overrated disaster like Power.

I'm still willing to give him a chance to put it all together.

KA gives chances out like Halloween candy.

I missed the game. Watched the replay. Best 60 minutes I’ve seen the Sabres play this season, start to finish. No let up in the final period. Took the Oilers out of any chance of coming back.

Ellis was supported by great D and made big saves when challenged. Easy to see the team has confidence in him.  He earned the next start. Let’s see if he can handle it.

Östlund, Rosen, and Kozak bring great energy to the team. Will hate to see any one of them sent down, but expect it.

The future is brighter after their visit.

Personally would say: Quinn, Krebs, then Greenway in that order; but expect Ruff will be popping the kids out of the lineup.

Wow, Quinn still has your ire? That surprises me just a bit.  Too many turnovers and goals scored not what you might expect, but he is a half point per game forward with a huge ceiling and needs games played.  Especially when you have Josh Dunne still in the lineup.  Where does he rank for you?

Dunne out —->Zucker in

Krebs out —> Benson In

Beck out —> Kulich in

Greenway out —> Norris in

Tage/Norris/Tuch

Benson/McLeod/Doan

Kulich/Kozak/Zucker

Rosen/Östlund/Quinn

Edit- still agree Ruff sends down Rosen and Östlund, cause….Sabres

This was about as predictable a win as it gets for the Sabres. I saw the line and told my wife - we will win this game. It’s the Sabres MO for the last half decade. We look horrible for several games and beat a superior team unexpectedly. May win the next 1-2 games or 4 out of 5, and then lose 7 of 8. It’s baked into the culture of the team.

I got to see about 2/3 of the game on the Oilers broadcast (but somehow missed most of the Sabres goals - lol).

I’m delighted with the win and strength of the team’s play.

I couldn’t shake or escape the sense that Edmonton mostly looked like dog sh1t out there. Just not a lot of juice or jump.

Even if that’s accurate, the fact is that the Sabres put a whoopin’ on a team having a bad night. Which is good!

Ellis looked great. Absorbent! Call him ShamWow.
