Never apologize for being crazy, embrace it. It’s better than be placid and boring. 😀

Ruff said Jacob Bryson and Michael Kesselring skated before practice this morning. Ruff said he's hopeful Kesselring could join the team for practice as early as tomorrow, but he hasn't gotten the report on them yet to see how he handled things today.

The dreaded TNT/HBO non-viewing, radio-only abstract painting description call tonight here. Hope Östlund plays well.

Detroit is playing tremendous hockey to start the season. Need Ellis to play above expectation and for Dahlin/TNT/Tuch/Byram/McLeod to all show up at both ends of the ice to get a win.

Same.  On both counts.

Would love to see Östlund step up and be noticed.   We need help at center.

But who will protect them when... who is definitely not that guy...  Edvinsson... starts taking liberties?

😇

The question for the fourth line (which was very good with Mal-Kozak-Danforth, and still good when it was Malenstyn-Kozak-Dunne)... is Krebs an upgrade from Danforth? We should hope so.

If this were a 7pm start I’d go, but 730 will put me home past my bedtime. Go Sabres.

oh damn - thanks for the heads up. i will adjust my arrival time accordingly.

Colton Ellis in the starters net

The best way to protect the young goalie is to maintain possession of the puck as much as possible.  The Sabres can't have another start where the opponent is in our end for much of the first period, peppering Ellis.  They will be down 2-0 in a blink.

On WGR last hour, right after there was discussion of the game being on TNT, Hammy chimes in and calls it a “radio only” game.  Hello…just because it is not on MSG does not make it a “radio only” game.

How much does this guy get paid? 🤔

Krebs is a get-under-the-skin agitator.  It's less tangible than scoring or physical hits, but he gets opponents off their game.

I think this has become commonly received wisdom after it became clear that Krebs would not pan out as a top-6 NHL forward.

For my part, I don't see it. Or, at least, I don't see much (enough) of it.

High compete. Plays hard every shift.

Krebs, Benson, Zucker. Looks like Doan is high compete.

We could use a few more guys like this group, imo.

Does he?

More smoke than fire there if you ask me.

Line up makes sense to try as Detroit isn't a physical team. On paper similar and Sabres could do well in an open ice speed match up so we shall see. Goaltending the question mark.

Sadly I agree. I'm still waiting for the next step from Krebs. Benson seems to have taken his.

Krebs isn't going to take any other step.

This. I was really hoping he could be a very good fourth center who could spell occasionally higher up but he has started this year very slowly. Some guys just have a hard time accepting who they are. I think Kozak is surpassing him as the fourth center.

I  would take Danforth over Krebs.  In a short time he became the best face-off guy on the team, and he was really good on PK.

Too soon to say. He’s 24. Has a few years before his prime.

Produced 28 points last year on mostly 4th line. His defense is no liability. +/- neutral player.

If he fails to generate more offense still a valuable piece given his compete and intangibles, imo

Watch him interact with teammates on the bench. Kid is enthusiastic and upbeat.

80 game player last two years.

Easy to see why Ruff likes him.

Agreed 100%. What's the expression used in other sports (football, mostly, I think): He's a 'tweener.

Not skilled enough to play top-6 in the NHL. Not enough of a psycho to carve out a meaningful role on the 4th line.

Decidedly not a kid anymore.

I've said it here before: Man, he looks the part. A really handsome guy. The social media team loves him. And I am sure he's a very popular teammate. A beauty, as the hockey players say.

The only thing Krebs agitates are Sabres fans with his awful play.
