The Injury Excuse 25/26

Okay, I suggested it and was asked to start it so here it is. It is my firm belief that injuries will be used as this years excuse. So, feel free to list them all here and end of the year we can see how many we had and if it had any legitimacy or predetermination at all. (or to tell me I was wrong if I am)

First one, Sept 12.

UPL has "tweaked" something and may or may not have an issue.

Unless it was UPL version 23.24 he was not going to help. I agree that the hope was a bounce back season and it is possible for him to play some good hockey this year and help the team.

Maybe this all accelerates the move away from him. A real battle between 4 goalies could have someone emerge as a decent option, which wasn’t the case last year until Reimer played well when it didn’t matter.

You saw Georgiev play last year right? 

I'm surprised Adams didn't kick the tires on Carter Hart, now that his suspension has been lifted. I'm personally not advocating for him, despite being found not guilty, but I'm surprised GMKM didn't make a desperation move to save his job.

Maybe he did? Although it's correct he can't play until Dec. I really doubt he'd come to Buffalo. He has said he wants a fresh start and he wants a U.S. city but he'd take Edmonton over Buffalo and we already know Edmonton will take players with past issues.

We stay in these preseason games any longer and we're going to get pulverized.

(no reason to suspect that Byram and Power are anything but cautionary rest days to give the AHLers more looks) but if they and Kesselring are dinged up, Greenway is already shouldered, Luukkonen has a lingering strain or something that won't be right...  that's a good start to the excuse.

I was just thinking this today after seeing so many headlines about injuries. 🤣

I am at the point where I really don't even care about new injury announcements. I genuinely think they are going to be a mess with the current lineup as it is, or with any of the call-ups. 

At the same time, I could not care less about the draft position because none of that has helped over the last 15 years either.
