TNT and Dahlin could be demanding trades. And then Levi walks, just as Ullmark did, because there's no money in the organization that had Hasek to pay a proven starting goalie. (Under this current GM/owner combination.) Levi needs to be able to take the time he needs to reach his peak; goalies are also complete voodoo in terms of scouting. Aside Allen who got a rough contract for what he is, Lyon was the best on the UFA market arguably. They all have their warts but Lyon has successfully gone nuts for 2 months and took a team to the playoffs. The only goalie worth inquiring about in trades was Demko but he got re-signed and I guess Silvovs whom might anger Levi and be the new Robin Lehner of Calder Trophy winning caliber goalies. Quote

Allen should fire his agent for the contract he accepted - he should have gotten twice of what he did 1 Quote

I do want us all to remember -- Lyon was great down the stretch that season. He was also backstopping the Florida Panthers -- who had won the President's Trophy the season before and were scuffling. He didn't drag a belowgrade roster back to the playoffs. He played great behind a great team that needed a kick in the rear. 13 hours ago, Taro T said: Not necessarily. Expect he should be ready next year & possibly this year. Hope so. I think this year he could, but (2026-27) next season is when he'll be 25 and that's when Miller/Ullmark both became themselves. I also hope that's not too late for Dahlin/Tage/Tuch who can be a good group to build around. Just need centers.... Quote
Trettioåtta Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 Lyon always played great against us, so if nothing else, this signing stops him stealing about 4 points from us in the standings Quote

He very well might do it again. 2 Quote

It’s just a misunderstanding of what the numbers are saying. I’m not saying one has to feel he’s worth a first, not at all, but he’s not a “bad fit”. You drastically undervalue goalies. “Don’t mind” Saros. Good grief Crazy pills, man. 2023 was an absurd time. The Hasek comparisons..easily the most overhyped sabres prospect of all time Edited 3 hours ago by Thorny Quote

thewookie1 Posted 6 minutes ago Report Posted 6 minutes ago @Weave Well I wouldn't of traded Levi for a 1 year rental in Hellebuyck just to watch him walk Quote
