How does that call even go? Is Kevyn the one making the call? "Hey, Lou. Remember me? You don't. I'm Kevyn Adams. I'm the GM of the Sabres. Why are you laughing? Anyway, how'd you like to come work for me? Why are you laughing? So anyway, there's no President of Hockey Ops, so you'd report to me. As my advisor. Lou? Lou?" 2 Quote

Who structures their organization under a GM with no experience who has failed for 6 years and then approaches two of the best front office people of all time and ask them to work for this incompetent clown. This organization is so ass backwards that it is embarrassing. The Keystone Cops of sports organizations. Turf Adams and you could have Holland or Lou or Dudley in here tomorrow at the top of of the organization and they would instantly build a front office 10 times better than the crap show that has failed here for 15 years. And Adams has been on the job for 6 years and just now they decide he needs a babysitter so he’s not so incompetent. You can’t even make this stuff up. Edited 8 hours ago by Flashsabre 3 Quote

He always struck me as a sharp guy with ambitions in that area. My inclination is to think he was sharp enough to decide there were better places to start his career than a questionable and precarious Kevyn Adams regime. Quote

Carmel Corn Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Part of me wonders if the Sabres might actually be done with their search, going solely with Eric Staal as their answer. In their minds, they only needed a special advisor, not a senior one. Quote

I want this fictitious "senior advisor" to actually be the President of Hockey Operations and to have a Stanley Cup pedigree, to be respected around the league, to work full time, and to be in Buffalo while doing it. IF he meets these requirement then he should decide who the GM is, what the rest of the FO looks like, who the coaches are, how the roster is built, and how the farm system is run. Is this troo much to ask? Isn't this normal for 31 other teams? Has the entire world has gone mad? 1 Quote

The Sabres never bothered to talk to him. 1 1 Quote

Weave Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago But I thought there were only like 32 of these jobs available and anyone would be a fool to turn one down. Quote

I don’t think 31 other teams have a President and several of the ones that do were just playing musical chairs to keep a valued assistant GM. Titles aren’t important anyway. Having someone competent at the top, regardless of the title, is what matters. 1 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago So what I'm reading they are having trouble finding anyone since it could be a 1 year situation and it's below Adams who might get fired NEXT year. If that's their approach I'd assume that yes, they'd have trouble finding someone. In my view the only way this works is if they put Adams on notice (playoffs or you are done) and they hire an experienced senior advisor to sit ABOVE Adams and answer only to Pegula with a 5 year deal. The understanding with him being if Adams fails the senior advisor will be empowered to fire everyone and oversee the new hires. Otherwise, it's BS. 2 1 Quote
GoPuckYourself Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Nobody wants to work under our failed GM? I'm shocked. Quote
