No one else wants 1 of 32 jobs of its kind in the world even though there's hundreds of front office hockey ppl? Even though they didn't fire Adams so they didn't even look? Don't give them such a feeble excuse for why they are complacent and have accepted incompetence. 1 2 Quote

That’s why an executive needs to be a good recruiter too. Nonetheless, a candidate that has demand certainly would have some incentive to turn down a position if they have evaluated that position to be a career killer. 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Maybe I should have said, no one competent wants the job. Quote
LGR4GM Posted 17 hours ago Author Report Posted 17 hours ago You both wildly underestimate the hubris and ego of ppl at the top of hockey offices while simultaneously refuse to except that NHL gm is not like any other corporate job. There's candidates and the Sabres did not look. So you're providing the same old excuse of "well, there's no one else" which sounds like a wgr afternoon take. 1 3 1 Quote
Flashsabre Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago They could have Ken Holland tomorrow to run the hockey dept if Terry swallowed some pride and opened the wallet. He wants back in and is being looked at for the Isles position. This comes down to Terry not trusting hockey people and being cheap with the Sabres. How has not one assistant coach been turfed yet? 3 1 Quote

A billboard that GM Shevyn (kudos to DarthEbriate for that nickname) is likely to see, almost every day. A billboard that says, something like, "Hey Kevin, a REAL owner would have fired your [cartoon donkey] by now!!!!" Oh, how cathartic that would feel!!! 😃 Somebody should pay a landscaper (no paper trail) in cash to plant palm trees at his house. What's his address. I'll buy his neighbors house and plant them in my own yard. Quote

Are Taylor Hall and Ryan O’Reilly coming back into the fold as well? I don’t like Kevyn Adams at all really but this will move him from incompetent boob to out of touch ignoramus. 2 Quote

That a guy who has failed to get in the playoffs for 5 straight years and made zero progress should NOT be fired? So yes, fire people. Of course. Hire a true hockey person with lots of experience and let them hire an entire management and coaching structure. Trying to be that Carolina team we all hate is not what I want to see. 1 Quote

I'd fire Adams and then methodically go through the staff. I'd make analytics a bigger factor in decisions. I'd review all the players and figure out which I'm shipping out before October. I'd use my 9th overall pick as trade bate. I'd build a team that can win a playoff series, something Pegula has never done. 1 1 Quote

Hire the right people, Pegula lucked out with McDermott/Beane of the Bills and needs to find the same luck with the Sabres. Maybe poach up and comers from top notch organizations like the Golden Knights/Wild/Panthers etc., doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity is it not? LabattBlue Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Does this mean Appert will still be an asst coach AND these new responsibilities, or is he being reassigned to this new role? If the former, what a joke. Sources also indicated that assistant coach Seth Appert – formerly head coach of the AHL’s Rochester Americans and in the U.S. National Development Program – has also taken an increased, if not unofficial, role with a voice in hockey operations decisions and scouting.
