Easy choice 

Best player, longest contract, plays almost every game. Reliable. 

Still young. Young guys look up to him. Drafted by the team. 

Draft and dev strategy needs a draft and dev captain

Dahlin has generally become the heir apparent since Eichel's departure and Okposo's captaincy. 

He's not only our best player but probably our most willing to do anything to win every game. He will literally play goalie in empty net situations and is far from soft in the physicality attribute.

Plus I don’t want to be tempted to be locked in to any extra commitment to Tuch because of him wearing the C. Deciding we need to give him a long term deal. He’s already arguably tailing off

As I posted in the Okposo thread, they should go with Dahlin and Tuch as co-captains like in the Briere and Drury years.  
That worked well then and this time you get more accountability within the leadership group.

This way, neither guy feels slighted as well.

Also one forward and one defense alternating that C, and each arguably are good leaders in different ways.

Can’t recall how they determined back then who wore the C on any given night, but those would be my thoughts.

Well, putting a C on him is a sure way to get him off the team.

I do not now, nor have I ever, cared about who is/was the captain of our team (or any team, really.) I think it is overblown, and I just don't care who gets to talk to refs about a penalties or where the face-off is.
