Average height doesn’t mean squat. Take out Tage and Cozens, neither of whom play a physical game, and you have mostly smaller players, especially on D. Size only matters if they use it.

Take out the only Bruins defenders over 6'2" (there's only 2 of them) and you have mostly smaller players.

You've stated multiple times the Bruins are "bigger" and it's simply not true.

It’s Boston. For some reason, they are allowed to get away with whatever. Patriots cheating, Patriots getting away with calls, Bruins running everyone over with no calls, it’s what it is for some unknown reason.

Sabres only have 2 defenders under 6 foot. Rest were 6-6'2" tonight and they have 6'6" and 6'4" joining that backend either in a couple weeks or at years end. I wouldn't worry about the size of the defense.

This made me giggle.

Sure. The league cares.

The Bruins aren’t bigger. They are certainly more physical and absolutely more talented.

We’re going to see this game a lot this year.

Ugh.

I just hope nobody quits playing as much as that turd Hall did last year.

So you conveniently exclude the Bruins bigger forwards. 🤔

The current group plays small and aren’t physical. We’ve been waiting since Tyler Myers for the next big physical D.

You set your goals pretty low. “The team gets pushed around, but at least one of our players was voted the nicest”. Not even a team trophy. 🙄

So, your high goal is having a team full of Zac Rinaldo’s, Matt Cooke’s, and Sean Avery’s?

What a high bar.

There was no call on Lucic trucking Miller. Doesn’t mean it was legal.

Sure, go to the extreme. 🙄 That’s not how the Bruins are. They draft skilled players willing to be physical, and complement them with trades and FA’s willing to do the same.

This may or may not be true, but it doesn’t deter from the fact that physicality didn’t play into their win tonight. Maybe in previous years, but not in this game.

Bigger is maybe the wrong word but they do play bigger. They are stronger, bulkier, bigger upper body overall. I mean guys like the dreaded and hated Marchand are small guys but for their size are really strong. The eye test indicates they are "bigger" in terms of muscle mass. Not height. For example, Dahlin is an inch taller than McAvoy but upper body McAvoy is much bigger and definitely stronger.

One thing is for sure, we just lost 4-1 and no one in here is that upset or ready to trash the team.

We said coming into the year if we worked hard and showed pride through 60, that would indeed be a giant step in the right direction. We are 3-1 and we've been averaging 35 shots a game and doing it with some speed and skill as well.

I agree with this.

I felt the Sabres worked hard, they just got beat by a team with more experience. It will come with time.

With the exception of McAvoy (and maybe Lysell last year) Bruins drafting has been sh##    . They've mostly added FAs and made late season trades to stay competitive with that perfection line.   They definitely do however, try to fit players into the existing style they have and favour. That team definitely reflects Cam Neely sitting at the top as overseer.

I completely disagree. As was stated over and over, we had a boatload of chances and out chanced them. They buried theirs and we put ours off the post and off the back of Ullmarks leg.

That’s just it. We give maximum effort but don’t have the talent to finish. We really have to work to score. Boston waited for us to make a mistake and buried it every time. They then went cruise control the rest of the game.

And it will be interesting to see what happens when we play them again. Granato was great at adjustments last year. It will be interesting to see if his game plans can overcome our talent deficit.

Expectations are so low that pretty much anything that looks better than the tank teams is going to escape much criticism.

Thanks ESPN for flashing the final score on my phone.

Gotta turn off notifications! I just watched it. Really nice effort. Great chances. Took it's to the Bruins. They had to keep up with us. Let's win tomorrow.

But two things: Where were all the people? Are season ticket holders not selling but also not going?

And was that an Eichel soap opera from Bucci or what?
