WildCard
I liked Flynn. He's a great 4th liner. I'm not surprised at all e was moved: I figured it was either him r Mirchell Murray was surprised to get calls on. I think his departure will have a bigger impact than we suspect
Eleven
Slow news day when there's a separate thread--pinned, no less--for Brian Flynn.
inkman
Kevin Weekes @KevinWeekes Opposing GM's continue high interest for @BuffaloSabres Neuvirth & Stewart.I know Buff GM likes both players, holding for good returns. Did Murray pay Weeks for that
carpandean
Do you think this is the "can you believe that I'm calling you about this guy" player that GMTM was talking about?
dudacek
To me, Flynn will always be the poster child for this era of Sabres hockey.

dudacek
Flynn sounds a bit gob smacked. Will say it seems like most players seem to like it here.
WanderingEye
At least you can be assured that Murray is truly committed to tanking if he's dealing NHL caliber players on the level of Brian Flynn.

SabresBillsFan
Honestly though, these are the players I want gone from this team. I don't imagine flynn being on a contending sabres team, ship him out. Bring up schaller Schaller can fill in Flynn spot just fine
TrueBlueGED
I still think Flynn is the new-age 4th liner on a decent team, wouldn't have minded keeping him around. Not gonna cry he's gone either though.
Drunkard
Flynn helped derail our post deadline tank in 2013 so I'm happy to see him moved. Good luck to him in Montreal.
Iron Crotch
Flynn, like many Sabres, is long on character but short on talent. I think this move is about clearing out pro contracts for the future. WTF was Nolan doing putting Flynn out on the power play? Oof.
biodork
Well that was unexpected. Slow news day when there's a separate thread--pinned, no less--for Brian Flynn. No kidding. Do you think this is the "can you believe that I'm calling you about this guy" player that GMTM was talking about? Was wondering the same thing... who knew there was a market for him? Oh well, no big loss (but kind of silly given the low return).
Iron Crotch
180 lb. forwards who score 6 goals per year aren't worth much more than a 5th rounder. Murray knew he wasn't going to resign Flynn (RFA) so might as well send him to the Habs.

Not gonna cry he's gone either though. I assume he doesn't have a heavy enough game for what Murray is building. I'm really surprised that a good playoff team was interested in Flynn. I'm really surprised that a good playoff team was interested in Flynn. I'd agree with this, I just disagree with the philosophy. Modern 4th lines aren't just body-bangers, you want players who have defensive value and can play ~10 per game. I think Flynn is just that. Now of course you can get that in a more physical package, which I think is what you're getting at, so I'll show myself out now

DirtDart
I did recently post that I couldn't wait until the day Brian Flynn wasn't one of our everyday forwards. Like the guys attitude. Hope he succeeds in Montreal. Not part of the future here. Now we just need Ellis gone, I assume a bag of pucks would compensate.
