Rumor: Tim Graham “Sources He has are strongly hinting this is the end for Kevyn Adams”

That's what I was wondering. If/when KA gets canned, who will publicly make the announcement?

My memory could easily be wrong, but my recollection in 2020 was that there was a press release announcing the firing of Jason Botterill.  Shortly afterwards, there was a video conference call where both Terry and Kim Pegula were present to make a statement regarding the hiring of Kevyn Adams.  Then there was some general Q&A.  Due to Covid, it was all done virtually.  Again, I could be wrong.

Jarmo’s Father passed away on Sunday. This might delay the announcement

It's kind of odd that this rumor took off while he was away for that reason.

But anyway, it feels very obvious to me how this whole thing is going to play out.  Unless someone asks the right question, nothing negative will be said about Adams.  This was their plan all along and they finally reached the point where everyone was comfortable with Kekalainen's onboarding.  People are going to want to rant about not being harsh enough about Adam's failures, but we need to take what we can get.  No matter what reason's the team gives publicly, he'll be gone.  That's a huge win.

I find it curious- and odd - that Matthew Fairburn, who is typically pretty prompt at reporting on the previous night's game has released nothing so far today. Another indication that something is brewing?  I realize he may have been travelling back from Seattle but what else is there to do on a plane for 4 or 5 hours?

Going pretty deep here but..

Is there a chance that he was dealing with his father's illness that was progressively getting worse... And that he may have been offered, Or at least it would have been let known to him, that there was a position available with the sabres that would require more involvement than he had up to this point?

Maybe the general manager position?

It could be that they wanted to move Adams upstairs and hire Jarmo to replace him, but until his family situation gave him more time, he didn't want the full role at the beginning of the season, but now is that time?

To think that he was offered the general manager job in the off-season and said he wanted to take it but needed a little bit of time because of his father's 's illness... Makes a lot of other stuff going on in this organization make a little bit more sense.

I don't think this is the case, but could it be that they wanted to move Adams upstairs and hire Jarmo to replace him, but until his family situation gave him more time, he didn't want the full role at the beginning of the season?

It’s entirely possible as he mentioned his dad had a long term illness.

I guess it would be interesting to find out how many other people were interviewed or considered for the GM/Senior Advisor Role

Friedman mentioned the Sabres have too many cooks in the kitchen and this predates Jarmo.

If Jarmo does become GM, I hope he is given the authority to end this problem.

Maybe. I’ve never been able to do that, personally. Not even on overseas flights.

I'm usually asleep before takeoff.  All that white noise just puts me out.

I'd guess Pete Guelli would be the principal or even only speaker.

You'd think Terry would be there, though.

From 32 Thoughts this morning.
There is definitely noise with here, not sure about when the clarity will come Monday or Tuesday.

Spoke about the subtle ways teams put out fires when rumors start and that has not been done in this situation.

Adams has not been in a good mood on the trip even with them winning the last three and wonders if he and the people around the organization know something is coming.

Friedman mentioned the Sabres have too many cooks in the kitchen and this predates Jarmo.

Jarmo tried to stay out of the way and get a true opinion on the organization and as time went on he started to offer his opinion.

The last thought was we will see what happens but it has that feel around the organization.

Too many cooks?   Some media pointed out last year, after the palm trees and taxes fiasco, that Adams had no help and was the only GM in the league without a POHO or Sr Advisor.   That does not sound like too many cooks.

I’m guessing the too many cooks thing comes from Adams’ insistence that everyone gets a say in the signings etc

Aren't these announcements made via twitter these days?

But do they?   I doubt that everyone gets a say.  Don't be fooled be the "Embedded" marketing videos.

Gets a say or gives an opinion?

I don't doubt opinions are shared.

Am wondering if Pegula uses a different definition of "extensive" than most of the rest of the English speaking world?

None of these searches ever seem to be "extensive" as most would define the word.
