A move that makes sense is a nice chance of pace for this organization

It made sense in preseason when it was obvious that Dunne was 3x the player Geertsen was. Though the Amerks would much rather have Dunne in their top 6 than Geertsen as a 4W with less upside than Jagger Joshua.

Nooooooooooooooo!

Seriously though, congratulations to this guy. He almost doubled his salary for the month or so he was sitting in the press box.

And he's got an NHL contract for next season, too.

Watch Boston claim him. They like his compete level. 😇

And then he’ll run the Sabres goalie and everyone will just watch.

It’s two way and I doubt that he’ll ever see the NHL roster ever again. I hope he enjoyed the little bonus.

Some funny comments, but I have nothing against this guy.

The problem is not Geertsen, it’s the people who thought he could help.

Interesting that neither Rosen or Östlund weren’t sent back down instead.

To a degree.  Even Ruff has to acknowledge that Geertsen doesn't gjve them their best chance of winning any given game when he hasn't put him in the lineup in what, 2, 3 weeks?  So, this one should've been, and turned out to be a no brainer.

The NEXT move is going to be the really interesting one, because don't believe they want to send any of the guys currently in the lineup down to Ra-cha-cha and they don't want to give up on any of the goalies just yet.  But something has to give.

Yes, and it's fortunate for him he found a team willing to give him the 2-way deal this season. I still think it's odd that he got 2 years when Ruff only has 1 remaining on his contract, but whatever.

I don't fault Geertsen for anything except maybe playing too nice. It's not his fault that when he tried to mix it up and start something the opponents pointed to the scoreboard and said, "We're not taking any penalties." Geertsen could've forced the issue (he obviously tried to and got a misconduct for it), but maybe he could've shut up and then gone in with his elbows up later and started a ruckus that way. But... he never seemed to play over the line, or even on the edge.

For me, Dunne is next (and Rochester could use him). I'd say he's 85% likely to clear waivers.

Zucker --> Greenway bumps down to 4W --> Dunne is out
Benson --> Rosén down
Norris --> Östlund down
Danforth --> new 13 since Kozak has been good (or in for Quinn or any underperforming/low-effort forward)
