Great game/series.... Crappy management decisions and not taking advantage of chances. 

Still don't like that call at home but no way they were changing that.

Buffalo sports fans can empathize with our Canadian bros & Jays fans right now. It was right there for the taking! I revel in the failure of the Leafs and their fans suffering, but I was with them in this World Series.  Rochester’s Ernie Clement did everything he could. 
 

The storybook ending wasn’t with them tonight. It sucks, but we know how it feels. What a wild ride.

I have seen lots of replays and stop action.  The catchers foot came off, then he got it back on the plate in time for a force out at home.  The call was correct.  

Replays verify he was out. 
 

Blue Jays had a great season.  They had many chances to win it - needed one more out, one more hit, one more play, but they didn’t get it.   Credit to the Dodgers for winning 2 in a row on the road, and they just seemed to rise up when needed.

Yamamoto went 3-0 with a 1.02 ERA in the Fall Classic. He’s just the 14th pitcher to notch three wins in a single World Series and the first since Hall of Famer Randy Johnson did it for the Diamondbacks in 2001. He is the first pitcher with three road wins in a single World Series and just the fourth pitcher to win both Game 6 and Game 7, joining Johnson (2001), Harry Brecheen (1946) and Ray Kremer (1925).

 

Unbelievable performance. Unfortunately I was there to see my team lose to Johnson in that game 7 in 2001.  Devastating ride back home through the desert.  My condolences.

I was saying they needed Barger stealing 2nd with the Kirk double play threat always there. I feel like they would have almost conceded the base with the threat of a missed throw scoring Vladdy.

Good to hear, I only saw what was on TV and what I saw didn't show the foot getting back on. 

Jays kinda pulled a "billsy" loss sadly. I'm happy I don't follow MLB as close as the NHL or NFL or else I would be devastated. 

All in all, it was a good series and very exciting baseball (a phrase I'm not sure I've ever said before) 😂⚾

And get pulling Bichette to get the pinch runner in there, but if you are "all in" to win in the 10th WHY leave the #7 hitter who was 0-4 at the time in the lineup with bases loaded and only 1 out?  Why not use a power hitter as a pinch hitter to get a sacrifice and drive that pinch runner in?  You still have the guy with 30 hits coming up after him if that doesn't work.

They ALMOST got the run leaving him in, but it just seemed there'd be a better chance to force in a run if somebody with power was at the plate there.

If there was ever a game that illustrated how slim the line between winning and losing can be, I don’t remember it. There were literally three plays within fifteen minutes that could have gone either way. 
I turned down a chance to be there but I’m not sure if that’s a bad thing.

Do they ever score on anything other than home runs anymore? I don’t recognize that game anytime I turn it on.

It is different game now.   Less nuances and less gut feel.  Past strategy that relied on good defense, base running, hit and run, etc., is less and less part of the game.  

Just about every decision is traced to analytics and what the laptop says.

Nice idea, but there was no power hitter on the bench.

My wife and daughter went to the Cold Play concert this summer at the bizarre new facility that Toronto just built out in the he middle of nowhere, the one with one road in and out. 

Many major logistics problems that night.   Most people were stuck in traffic for hours going in and out.  

I can remember when Toronto was once the standard for large city cleanliness, efficiency, and friendliness.

The narrative before the Series was “David vs Goliath” and Jays were huge underdogs. Jays took it to them all series and were the better team but they didn’t execute at the end of the series with numerous chances to win it. Yamamoto was the MVP for sure.

Jays found some new stars in Clement, Barger and Yesavage.

Heartbreaking loss. The baseball Gods got it wrong this year but oh well.

Rogers have as much money as anyone and committed to Vladdy. I wouldn’t think players just leave as free agents. Rogers will spend.

He said he wants to stay and the Front Office said he is the number 1 priority but we will see what happens. He is not a SS anymore his D isn’t good enough. He would be perfect at 2B with Gimenez at SS. If he is dead set on being a SS I think it limits his suitors big time. World Class bat.
