Zamboni
Ovi just dropped Svechnikov like a bad habit.
Claude_Verret
Ovechkin destroys Svechnikov. Tripp Tracey on the local telecast saying Ovechkin with the cheap shot forcing his head into the ice. The kid was out on his feet with that bomb he caught on the chin... he was going down hard regardless. The likes of Sheary, Thompson, Mitts, Pilut, Montour, Scandella, Sobotka, Gigensons and Angry Larry aren't going to cut it in a series. I hate to say it, but KO will not last through a series and I worry about Skinner. Skinner? He is the most feisty guy on the team. He needs a few people on the team that won’t let him get body slammed up he will hold up. Girgs and Larry can play physical too, can they do it and play with any skill is the question? Scandella and Sobotka won’t use whatever size they have, they need to go. Pilut gets swatted away like a fly.

dudacek
Kid has been sparring with Ovie the whole series. Give him points for courage if not brains. Ovechkin is a big, powerful man. Semi-related, whatever happened to the “fights are for the regular season, or playoffs” NHL?

It used to be that there were fights in most regular season games, but they weren’t nearly as common in the playoffs. This year, it feels like I’ve seen more uncontrived, nasty hockey fights in the first week of playoffs than an a month of regular season games.

You're a good player going to a good team, a good franchise, it's easier to show your talent. To the dregs of the NHL, not so much.
