Ogre Posted March 7, 2018 Report Share Posted March 7, 2018 (edited) Not that I think anyone's that interested or I'm looking for attention, but I thought I'd do one final update on my sarcoidosis. Doc does not want to treat because the risk of high dose steroids for three months is greater, probably much greater, than any benefit I'd get. Wil get it rechecked in six months. Sometimes the inflammation clears up on its own. He told me the cause is unknown. The immune system overreacts to some invader, be it bacteria, a virus, a chemical. Lots of people who worked at Ground Zero have developed it from breathing the toxic air. My autoimmune issues started without any health related issues. I learned to live with the alopecia but the newer issues with skin have been almost unbearable. Imagine having hives on 90% of your body 24/7 for weeks on end. Things progress and I find myself battling autoimmune hepatitis in the same cyclical pattern as the other disorders. Signs of liver failure for weeks and months only to have my health turn dramatically better for a while. The steroids are the worst. Prednisone makes me want to hang myself for some bizarre reason. I’m normally not thinking about that stuff at all but two days on prednisone and that’s all I think about. I’m not depressed while it’s happening either. Really wierd. I noticed my first symptoms of immune system troubles shortly after GMO first came on the scene. I blame that. It makes me feel like I could possible have some sort of control over what my body is doing. I don’t though. Good luck bro. But they hooked up the hot and cold water backwards. So now I have to have them come back out here and wrestle the stupid thing out of the nook it's in and switch the lines. Both of the spigots have blue valve handles but you'd think they would have checked the actual temp of the water coming out of them before hooking the thing up. A quick google brings up results though. Good luck to you, too! Despite getting objectively bad news about my health, I'm still lucky. I feel good. There are so many people so much worse off. A couple of hours sitting and watching folks come and go in a hospital lobby should cure any "worried well" of their neuroses. So, does that mean they cannot offer a prognosis? Wait and see? I should have asked the doctor about my prognosis! lol. I knew I forgot something. But, yeah, it's wait and see. I would imagine the prognosis is good, as it is for many with this weird condition. I honestly think I've had it for awhile. My scans were unchanged from September to December, so it's not progressing. And nothing seems to have changed since December. "We, Quebec doctors, are asking that the salary increases granted to physicians be canceled and that the resources of the system be better distributed for the good of the health care workers and to provide health services worthy to the people of Quebec," the letter reads. The Canadian government offers universal health coverage but has had to make a number of budget cuts in recent years in a bid to reduce growth in healthcare spending. On average, Canadian family physicians make $211,000 each year. That’s compared to the $217,000 that primary-care doctors in the U.S. make on average, according to a 2017 Medscape survey. The doctors in Quebec should be viewed as heros by all Canadians. They are not wrong. The healthcare system in Canada is in crisis and is unsustainable. Money is wasted. And it is not universal in the sense that care is not available. Just try to have some basic tests done and try to see a specialist. Try to find a family / primary care doctor who is actually allowed to take on patients. I will never forget while we were waiting to see my wife's neurologist a man seeing him before us came out of the office in tears. He told us that the brain tumour he has is no longer treatable, as he had to wait for 18 months for the MRI he just got the results for. What do you say to that man. There are no words. I only use VISA gift cards, so none of my personal banking / credit card info can be compromised ... I really think that they are out to get me. Just placed an order through Amazon.ca for printer ink and gel ink refills for my Waterman fancy pen. No fuss, no muss. Did not have to leave my office to go to Staples. Got the razor online and the other stuff at a local shop. I still plan to use my trusted Braun electric shaver on weekdays, as it is fast and easy. Josie brought me home one of her grandfather's old Gillettes and it shaves just as good as any modern disposable. Plus blades are crazy cheap on Amazon. I read up on it and the single blade is the thing that makes it so good. Very sharp and the water really rinses everything away with no clogging between the blades of a multi blade razor. The industry has really moved to to multi blades, up to 5 I think, and it is just not good. The razor came with Gillette blades and I am using them now, but when I ordered the razor through Well.ca I also ordered 2 pack of 10 Wilkinson Sword blades.
