We’ve seen Lindy do this before. In years past when the energy wasn’t there, when the top 6 isn’t producing. Lindy usually put an energy guy on each line to get some change of pace on each line. I’m surprised he didn’t do this sooner.

I might just have to quit this place if we go back to rooting for losing again.

Overpaying for McDavid is basically how we got to here. We overpaid badly for Eichel and had nothing left to actually ice a team.

You never said “owner”. This is the quote I responded to. You aren’t way off other than, it may already be too late. You’d have to be at least college age to have seen a Sabres playoff game as a baby.

The “we aren’t a destination” thing predates the Eichel injury mess. We’ve been overpaying or losing out for more than a decade. Certainly the Eichel mess hasn’t helped heal that wound at all. At the end of the day, the team has to demonstrate that they are not only serious about winning, but are capably pulling it off. And of course we can’t demonstrate the 2nd if we haven’t committed to the first.

Fair. But the “we aren’t a destination “ is coming from the team not fully committed to winning, which is a snowball started down the hill with the word “suffering “.

And it’s damned if they do, damned if they don’t. At this point you have to be into drama to make the effort.

Noone said they want to lose the team. A few have said, including me, that given the evidence that the current owner is unable to figure out how to run a winning team, there is no risk in losing the team. Another difference with distinction. Context are hard.

Given the number of teams we currently need to leapfrog (4 plus CBus has a game in hand), and the statistics showing how very few teams not in a playoff position at thanksgiving make the playoffs, I don’t know how anyone can have optimism that this team pulls it off.

I think they are booing the results on the ice. It is a distinction with a difference. It is directed at the organization as a whole, not the players effort, not the coaches effort, not the GMs effort, not the owner. It is a response to the collective results and 14yrs of suffering.

This was the hole they could not dig. KA gonna need to pull a rabbit out of a hat now.

Josh is a living “Are you not entertained?” meme. I’ve said long ago that I emotionally divorced myself from the Bills 7 or 8 quarterbacks ago. It has made watching the absolute treat that Josh Allen is so much better. I don’t care 1 iota about coaching decisions, schemes, personnel decisions, play calling. None of it. But I make time on my calendar every non prime time game (my work schedule puts me in bed by 9pm) to watch the Bills play. Or more accurately, watch Josh Allen play. He is the most entertaining athlete I have every experienced, and its not even close. Monday I told my wife, enjoy and appreciate every moment of this. There will never be another one like him, certainly not in Buffalo. What we are witnessing is fleeting, unfortunately. Take it in and enjoy it, win or lose. You’ll never see it again.

For your entire existence here there hasn’t been any successes, so how would you know?

Awhile back I stated that the only reason Lindy signed on was as a favor/ out or respect for the fanbase. I think it is one and done as well.
