  1. Just last season, Stephen Stamkos said in an interview that “the NHL is an 85% league”. Context being, players pace themselves so they are ready to give maximum effort in the playoffs. So the arguments above are wasted energy. It doesn’t matter your opinion, or how you feel it should be. A star player has come out and stated reality. Players don’t give 100% during the regular season so the they have 100% to give in the playoffs. Unless you are the Sabres. They are saving it for the golf course.
  2. Sabres are gonna be AWESOME in 2030.
  3. What about, wrote him off early, bagged on him for not meeting the hype, accepted that he’s evolved into a good middle 6 player, but is agnostic about this trade? What button is that?
  4. Amen to this. I dread the remainder of this week, but goodness it is nice to discuss a bonafide hockey trade.
  5. Ahhhhh….. I have no idea, lol. The potential is there for it to be either. Need to see what else comes.
  6. I can’t get to, Casey was traded solely to avoid a payday. At least not yet, lol. Cash spent at center may certainly be a factor, but there has to be a plan that involves boosting the team overall. At least, I think there has to be. I am holding out hope that this is move 1 of 3 or 4 moves through draft day that that retools the team.
  7. It seems to Me that we can’t take this trade in a vacuum. There has to be alot more to the plan.
  8. Man, Casey gonna go from a best buds locker room to Nathan Mackinnon running the show and putting ***** straight. But he’ll win. Lucky bastard.
  9. I’ve accused KA of playing it safe in the past. Low risk, low reward. Maybe I need to rethink that. The goalie situation this season was probably high risk, although I don’t see a high reward potential. Moving Mitts is pretty high risk as well, and Byram sure had high reward potential. You are putting even more of your money of Tage/Cozens now. And Krebs too, for that matter. The flip side is, does Byram approach Dahlin level effective? What then? Is ther room for those two and Power? Do we suddenly have a very high value chip to cash in? All I know is, it better start paying off in October 2024.
  10. Is anyone actually interested in talking about a game at this point? Lol
  11. Yup. Get used to the revolving door of AHL kids in the lineup
  12. The train of overwhelmed rookies has left the station. Keep your arms and hands inside the ride at all times.
  13. PA has been right all along. Its about a preservation timeline.
  14. I saw a rationale not too long ago that Casey was not going to be happy with a contract offer here given the deals to Cozens and TNT. I could see KA determining that he wasn’t going to offend Casey and just move him along.
  15. Moves timeline backwards. Check. Trade a player that was risk not to sign. Check. Questionable if it fills a need. Check. Player comes cheap. Check. Im good with it.
  16. Remember when Grant Fuhr used to come into camp 20lbs overweight?
  17. Pick your kid, then. Regardless, any vet being shipped out will have an AHLer replacing him for the remainder of the season.
  18. We sure show them every season, don’t we! We are a gnat on their ass. They don’t even notice it. The emotion is strictly one way.
  19. KA explicitly said there were going to be tryouts once the playoffs were lost. He’s going to replace the players that leave at the deadline with kids.
  20. Lets all point and laugh at the team that has been demonstrably better than us for at least a decade.
  21. Another in a long line of seasons as sellers at the deadline. Oh my, how exciting /s i think all 3 of KO, ZG, and EJ will find new homes. And the rest of this season will be even more unbearable to watch as whatever 4th line we assemble gets caved in game after game and a fleet of unprepared and unready kids get trotted out and fed to the wolves. I just can’t anymore.
