  1. Never let perfect be the enemy of better. Let’s strive to take a step, even if it is a short step. Enough steps and we are actually walking.
  2. The assistant hands the driver a beer. Amiright?
  3. You reacted with a negative emoji to the following: “I don’t care if a player has success after he leaves Buffalo. I just want trades that improve the team NOW.” That tells me you are more concerned with a player doing well outside of Buffalo than Buffalo improving from the trade. If any given trade makes Buffalo better, why would anyone care that the player leaving Buffalo plays well? All that matters is Buffalo gets better.
  4. At the expense of the Sabres getting immediately better? That is what the “cutting off your nose to spite your face” analogy was made for.
  5. I’m just amazed that anyone around here still has that much passion left.
  6. @thewookie1 why is it so important to you that a player leaving Buffalo doesn’t succeed elsewhere? Why does it matter if the Sabres improve overall?
  7. If there is anything to hate on about this, the relative shortage of NHL on his resume would be it. I understand that he’s worked with NHL players, but an experienced guy from a successful team would bring more reassurance.
  8. But I thought there were only like 32 of these jobs available and anyone would be a fool to turn one down.
  9. Dominic Hasek - Safe Driving Instructor
  10. Two last names? That seems as untrustworthy as someone with two first names.
  11. Pounded in the cornhole is the essence of being a fan of Buffalo sports. You grow up having acquired the taste without even realizing it. There is no not liking it anymore. Like warm deli meat on a over salty bun with those nasty seeds in rye bread.
  12. This being an inconsequential hire is exactly why it is worth being upset over. *if only I had the emotional budget anymore
  13. I hear Patrik Berglund is looking to get into the advisor game as well.
  14. Like I said, this is the hockey equivalent of a performance improvement plan. One missed goal and he’s gone.
  15. Byram is young and also has further potential. And his game is currently stronger than Power’s. Frankly, I think it comes down more to style of play than ceiling as I think their ceilings aren’t terribly different. I also think there is more risk in Power’s ceiling simply because he is further from it. I like Byrams game better. Why not find him the more suitable partner instead? Regardless, whoever is kept needs to be properly supported, or we are missing the playoffs for a 15th straight season.
  16. No excuses. That’s why an executive needs to be a good recruiter too. Nonetheless, a candidate that has demand certainly would have some incentive to turn down a position if they have evaluated that position to be a career killer.
  17. I mean, I have theorized as much in the past.
  18. Byram played a better game last season, and displayed much more dynamic play. Right now, betting on potential upside is hope. Hope isn’t a plan.
  19. Why is it an easy decision? What do you think Power has that makes him so obviously more important to keep?
  20. I like Byram’s game better than Power’s. I never get nice things.
  21. That’s it. ***** all over the last remaining bit of positivity I have left.
