This is a million dollar question.  The leak is:    "The Buffalo Sabres have been holding internal discussions about replacing general manager Kevyn Adams, three NHL sources have told The Athletic."

The Sabres Executive organization is Terry Pegula, COO Peter Guelli, Sr VP of Business Ops Rob Minter, and CCO Jacob Vernon.  You could possibly add Kim Pegula and/or maybe Laura Pegula.  maybe. 

The Hockey Operations is lead by Adams so I doubt he is in the room, but this the Buffalo Sabres.  The Sr Advisor is Jarmo and they have never said who he reports to. I will assume it is Terry.  All others report to Adams - Stahl, Karmanos, Jakubowski, Forton, etc., ... so I would not think they are involved in this decision.   Then there is the head coach and I have never seen anything saying that the HC report to Adams or Terry.  The football coach reports direct to Terry so it is possible that Lindy does. 

So Monday "they" get Terry, together finalize the plan and the comms for it.

Now, why would Jarmo take the job if he is under constraints that he cannot succeed with?  Could be that he thinks this is his last chance in the NHL?   Could be he has been working through the roles and responsibilities all along and has agreed to something?  Could be both.  

It all seems strange that this leaked out a week prior while the team is out of town.  Very Pegulian.  

I will be upset if Appert is the next HC, especially with DeBoer out there.  

DeBoer will have multiple opportunities before the start of next season  so I’d imagine he’d want some type of personnel control?  Certainly he’s not stepping into this mess with only a minor change in GM unless he has a relationship with Jarmo.

I saw this all over twitter but so far no actual nothing. Sure hope it's true. 

I've been hoping since Jarmo was hired that Terry was letting him assess the roster and the whole franchise. Kev was just a handcuffed lame duck pushing paperwork around and doing Terry's bidding but not really allowed to do much of anything. That scenario might also explain the goalie inactions. In any event long overdue but we shall see if it actually happens and who takes over.

I think it’s possible that Adams is in the room. If he’s in on a plan to shift over to the business side of things, he can be a part of these discussions. Personally, I don’t care where he winds up as long as he is completely separated from hockey decisions.

Shades of LaFontaine and XGMTM.  Not exactly the same by any means but I could see TPegs looking for someone to be the fall guy in this mess.
