It was the first game in a long time where I didn't want to rant about Samuelsson after. That alone is worth keeping the pairing intact in the short-term. Especially since Kesselring will eventually return to partner with Power. Agree. About the only thing I took as a positive from Thursday was Samuelsson. I did not remotely expect that. 1 Quote

I've heard that we're awful at it and we suck when a key player(s) goes down. So obviously there's proof. I just always thought the roster was so thin, every injury was exacerbated. Is it that teams have a much better 13th or 14th forward on the roster, more/better vets in the AHL that can come right up, they'll sign a FA immediately? They don't rely on their top players having "career " seasons year after year. Plus they have a legit top line with playmaking skills than can cover up for missing lower talent. More depth helps too. PerreaultForever Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Bruins scouting report for you (as objective as I can be): Lindholm is injured so Harris is in on D. Likely Zadorov Jokiharju and Harris Peeke as opposed to what that projection said. Everyone else is healthy. Top line is as good as anybody when they are on. Second line is iffy to say the least. Can skate, but they are really a bunch of spare parts and many believe if the season goes badly that whole line gets traded at the deadline. 3rd and 4th lines are both physical 4th lines. There is no real 3rd line. Two 4th lines. So you can try to beat them with speed but they will be greasy and to quote Sturm from a recent practice: "If you go to the net, go to the f'n net". They do. Bryson/Johnson better be ready. Goaltending looks to be in top notch form. B's are slow but play heavy and grind grind grind. They will clog the neutral zone and cut off lanes. Sabres better be ready for board battles. PK is solid, PP not sure but has more motion than last year and might be better than it was. Sabres can win if they really use their speed but B's will not make it easy or let them play free in open ice. With the Sabre injuries I'd say it's a tough task assuming that we see the same type of styles and efforts as we've seen so far. Edited 4 hours ago by PerreaultForever 1 3 Quote

K012010 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago As was brought up by myself in a bunch of others the other night, the most concerning thing that I’m seeing is just simply a lack of fire power on this team. Tage is definitely the most talented offensive player, but he’s a complementary piece, not somebody who can make it happen on his own like a true superstar game changer. And I’m saying that emphasizing that I do think Tage is truly special. But I just don’t see where the goals are going to come from at this point. Which is such a sad state of affairs, considering when things seem to be turning around a few years ago when we were scoring punches almost every night, it felt like the scoring would never be an issue going forward. To me, that’s the most disappointing part. So now we’re playing slightly better defensively as a team, but we have nobody to put the puck in the net essentially. I think that’s the most damning thing with Adams. We had the scoring to the tune of what was it a top three scoring team or top five for sure, and now it seems like we have a team full of grinders who actually still can’t even get messy in front of the net like we need. I remember saying a few years ago to people that they were at least fun to watch and it was the first time in so long that I was excited. I just don’t see what there is to be excited for about this team unfortunately. I’m obviously gonna watch as much as I can stomach, but I just don’t see enough fire power for us to even compete. I think we’re doing more things right, but now we’re lacking the scoring talent that we already had on the roster less than three years ago. I think there were some overreactions about how we played the other night— we actually played pretty well for the most part in my opinion and Lyon was genuinely stout in net until the last couple minutes, and yes Igor might be the best goalie in the league, but I knew we weren’t gonna get a goal. I think a lot of us knew. The only way for this model to succeed at this point would be for us to have somebody like Igor. We obviously do not have that… Good luck to all of us this year. I’ll just say that. Quote

I agree, I've said I think we're one top 6 player short. I suppose where we disagree on semantics is, I think Norris was the top 6 add, but that we needed another. Quote
