GASabresIUFAN Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Just think of all the cap space Norris’ injury gives us to be aggressive and acquire help! Just kidding, we know Pegula won’t let Adams spend a dime to fix this mess. Then again do we really want Adams trying to make moves any longer? 3 1 Quote

He should be summarily fired and Kekalainen put in charge with orders to gut the rot from the management side. 2 2 1 Quote

Are you saying we are trading Norris for Zibanejad? 1 Quote

So, much of the hope for this season hinged on an extremely injury prone player staying healthy for once and he's gone for "significant time" before opening night is even done. I'm sure Kev has a good "plan b" up his sleeve. 🙄 1 Quote

Sidc3000 Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Well the season is ***** anyway. They can’t keep anyone healthy in the line up from day 1. 1 Quote

Mango Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago My uneducated guess is that Norris has a stress fracture in his ribs. That's basically a "shut it down for a month" injury before starting rehab and that is another month or so. Stress fractures are overuse injuries. If he's been often injured, having his first productive offseason in some time could easily trigger it. It's pretty common in elite athletes with a lot of repetive motion like rowing, swimming, etc. 1 1 Quote

He should have been fired when it was clear the Sabres would not be a playoff team a year ago. I have zero enthusiasm for a Kekalainen takeover. He was at best a mediocre GM with a preference for old-school coaches whose era is over (Torts, Babcock). We have such a coach now, and it isn't going well. I would take Karmanos over Kekalainen, not because I have any degree of certainty that Karmanos would be good, but because I'm near certain that Kekalainen is not a long-term solution. 2 1 Quote

rickshaw Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I’m fine with Cozens move, but it shouldn’t have been for someone so unreliable. We could be in line for McKenna. Quote
LabattBlue Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago KA knew not to trade Cozens for futures. The problem is he didn’t get to the chapter in his “I want to be an NHL GM” class, where it warns against trading for broken players with huge cap hits. 2 1 Quote

Flashsabre Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I like Norris the player but this is beyond ridiculous at this point. Sadly I have no faith in this organization until either Pegula is gone or he steps back and gets a serious succesfulNHL person to run the show. Quote
Dryballs Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I feel bad for Norris. He was so enthused to have had a full offseason to workout rather than rehab. Season feels like another train wreck already.. Unless a miracle trade happens, we may be looking at Helenius or Whalberg sooner than would be ideal. But what does this organization have to lose. That could also hold true for Levi depending on future circumstances. Quote
