Jesus, didn’t think Tuch would be the last man standing.

Neither did I, but the market is certainly helping cap his contract numbers.

Also Kaprisov is starting to look ugly for at least 2/3 years.

At least for 1 night(yesterday)ESPN got something right…3 man pregame/intermission desk.  TNT tonight…5 man desk.

LESS IS MORE!!!!

Yeah, just drop the left side of that panel off into the Potomac and they're good.

Eichel numbers will help keep Tuch down

I'm not surprised by all these guys re-signing before the season starts, but they're all silly to not push for more cash. In the NFL, whichever QB is up next gets the best contract. No one cares that Mahomes (or Allen, because it's a Sabres board) is making less. Wait, make the GMs sweat, and get yourself some money. The cap is rising and the support players will still get paid. Tuch should absolutely do this to Adams.

One of these guys is going to stick it out to UFA next July (Kempe?) and make near-Draisaitl money because they're the only one still standing.

Nikita Novikov

Also the Bruins being good this year is highly questionable, not sure we want to emulate them right now

They looked solid tonight. Playing a very very tight checking disciplined system that will give teams fits. Very reminiscent of how Germany over achieved at the Worlds under Sturm. Not sure if they can sustain it, but Swayman looks to be back so do not underestimate them either. I suspect a team that will win games they hold even or lead in early so you will want to score early and get a lead on them to make their system collapse.

Could have easily drafted wolf but Forton strikes again

I honestly need like an obscured text trigger warning function for when someone's gonna drop that as.shat's name in a thread.

I'm just curious but how come when you thought they were drafting well you were preaching Karmanos is an analytical genius and now when they miss or draft poorly it's Forten strikes again?

When they draft well, they are clearly following analytics, Zach Benson for example. When they do dumb stuff there's no analytics behind it... looking at you Bedkowski.

Let's check in on the Yzerplan

Well, Adams has that going for him. Which is nice.

Montreal may also be decent again this season with another year of experience under their belts. They could get the goal differential to even.

If you say so. Just remember down the road a spell, Mrtka was Forten.

The Avalanche just had a lovely set PP play goal to take a 3rd period lead vs. Utah. Makar took the puck below the blue line into the corner and MacKinnon came from across the top of the blue line, looped around and drove into the vacated gap. MacKinnon! Completely forgotten and unmarked because he had basically fallen away to center ice and people were watching Makar and the guys near the net front.

Makar made the pass. MacKinnon made the shot from the circle. Not just Thompson standing in the circle waiting.

Video scouting should be a thing.

Hmm, I think he might have been both. But I'll give it to Jerry until evidence it's someone else.

Mrtka is tall and skates well, that's a Forton wet dream.

The good news - Detroit looks like crap.

The bad news - Montreal and to a lesser extent Ottawa both look like they are the same if not better than last year.

Tampa has a Rempe. Where are all these 6'9" guys coming from?

For the past few years I never understood people pushing Detroit and thinking they would be really good.

Look at their drafting, look at how many pics they've had, look at the entire rebuild they've gone through....

I'm not saying they're an awful team... But they are one of the "lowest potential ceiling" teams after a rebuild that I can think of in recent memory across any sport.
