Your observation about me is correct. I have lost patience with this owner. A generation of his foolishness has become intolerable for me. He has eroded what should be a vibrant hockey market to being an apathetic market that is irrelevant to the hockey world. I wish this stubborn and non- talking owner would sail away in his tax write off big boat.

VERY true. I often take the light rail as part of my commute home on game nights. I venture that not a single person I see getting on the train headed downtown has ever been on this message board. I envy them.

It's just when I read screeds like yours, followed by "I hope I'm wrong," I wonder if that's true. it's like the guy who calls WGR and says he's not demanding anyone be fired, but then reads a laundry list of grievances with Sean McDermott and/or Brandon Beane.

If they were really smart, they would know that watching Sabres' hockey is the easiest way to drive people away from watching Sabres' hockey

Saturday’s game is also nearly a sellout.  
 

Monday afternoon’s game has tix avail, but will be well attended.  Huge opportunity for the Sabres here.

But I think back to the '80s Canucks teams of my youth who had a similar level of success to the Adams Sabres. Sure plenty of fans grumbled and tickets were easy to come by, but generally they still loved their Tony Tantis, hated the Flames and Oilers, and were ready to jump back on the bandwagon given the slightest opportunity.

Those kinda fans just kinda fade when things aren't good, whereas most Sabrespace types stay invested and spend their time venting to their online friends.

Well back in the 80’s there was no Internet forums for fans to commiserate on.  The group negativity that we have here is contagious but it’s also a coping mechanism.  But the regular fans here watch every game and follow them closely, even in the off season. 
 

I stopped going because I’m out of town, it cost a lot to travel and to buy hockey tickets.  But the big reason is that when I go they almost never win and I’m just sick of it.  They don’t win because they are a poorly run team at the top.   I’m not a fan of Terry Pegula, I’m a fan of the team he bought.  He is not getting any more ticket money from me until he fixes the mess he created.  I’ll be a die hard fan from a safe distance.

Let’s hope the stagnant lifeless product gives us television fans something to cheer for. I haven’t spent any money on this team in years. In fact I think I’ve made money off of this team selling stuff in recent years
