New Sabres goal song voting

I was actually shocked how much I liked Swords of a Thousand Men. It's got that really old school goal song vibe. Especially love the chant that would accompany it if they actually were good and filled the arena.

I was disappointed but not surprised that my nomination — the rocking outro to “Peaches” by Presidents of the United States of America (starting around that big “LOOK OUT!”) — did not make the cut.

I would have never guessed there'd be someone pushing for Peaches as a goal song, but this is something I could really get behind.

I'm not a music guy.  I rarely have music on in the house, and 90% of the time in the car the radio is either off or its talk radio.  I've been to a total of about 5 concerts in the last 20 years of my life, and 3 of them were the BPO.  But that doesn't mean I hate music at all, I kinda like most types of popular music. If a song is decent, I favor mostly rock, but there are some pop songs I like too, classic and more modern alternative I can deal with some songs....and not a lot of country but even some country.

I listened again to the swords of 1000 men song, and I just don't get it.  If you took all the Sabres goal songs of the last few years, including when the players got to pick their own, I really think this one would be at the bottom of the list for me.  I really REALLY hope anything else gets it but that.

I'm shaking my head at the entire list. Yet the cascada song? How in the HE double hockey sticks did that even make it. I'll admit I submitted the chorus to 

Cuz at least it's up to date and admit it's catchy as all heck and seems that it seems everyone I've run into enjoys it.

I don't really like any of these songs for a goal song. How underwhelming. 

Seems like the franchise is searching for some identity, chasing a "Mr. Brightside", but I think they have to let it come to them. Fix the on ice product, produce a good team, and the right vibes will come. 

In the interim just stick with some of the classics like Song 2- Blur, or Machinehead- Bush. 

I do feel like hockey has always lent itself to rock and roll, heavy/punk. But I wouldn't mind if they leaned more hip hop.
