I mean, who in their right mind came to the conclucsion "I've figured it out!   You know what we're missing that will help put us back in the playoffs?  A special assistant to the GM who has no prior front office experience!! Bang!"

 My knee jerk response for reason is that Lindy's big complaint is that this roster (see, org) is soft, does not how to win, and lacked leadership. So Shevyn went out and got a guy that won a bunch, wore the C/A often, and at the peak of his career was a tough a resilient player. 

But instead of getting somebody on the roster, he just got his buddy who will likely just show up to practice every once in a while and tell the guys that they are a bunch of p-words.

Then we will get a presser about how we brought more toughness into the building so stop being critical of the roster he built. (A roster he continuously says is his fault is not good enough, but then always follows it up with being good enough)

But the "news" of the past 24 hours is this:

• Keeping the bad GM
• Planning to hire his potential replacement to 'advise' him
• Likely losing the associate GM with 3 Stanley Cups and 25 years experience
• Potentially losing the touted head of the analytics department (i.e. the only other credentialed guy in head office)
• Giving the chatty, smiley, not-great 1st-year assistant coach with the hair greater say in player personnel
• Hiring a completely inexperienced friend of the GM as his new right-hand
• Trading the #2 defenceman

Not sure how any of this makes us better. More sure how it could make us worse.

Is it becoming clear yet to you on how Kevyn sold Terry of his plan?

Ok, so i am going to be the unpopular opinion. I am going to ignore WHO HE IS and WHERE HE CAME FROM!!! Bare with me here.....

He was an exceptional player that played a brand of hockey that this team desperately needs. He is widely respected league wide (With the exception of Buffalo). He is someone OUTSIDE the organization that a lot of folks have been screaming  that we need to add without recycling same people. He is and was a WINNER in every league and tournament he has been in. His knowledge of the game is also highly respected. 

I get his Buffalo tied past. I am sure he knows it as well. How much does that say for an individual that knows he is going to treated like a second class citizen by many fans of the team he joined. I honestly believe this could be a good thing for the organization and for himself. 

I also understand the bias against him. I am a day 1 fan and hate the Lames as well, but he could bring an outsider insight that is highly needed for this team. I am sure i will be lambasted for my thoughts, but does it really hurt? If he can guide our GM to make 10% better decisions to help this team, then it is a win.
