Which is what they should be doing with him now that UPL has actually been given the net as the 1 (and not a 1A/1B situation).  Let him get some games in Ra-cha-cha but keep him up with the big team so that Comrie doesn't get games with the big team.

And keep reevaluating the situation and if conditions change change the plan.

UPL was not the issue yesterday afternoon.

A team that gives up two goals should have a reasonable expectation to score 3 to win, or at least come out with a tie.

The Sabres really lost 2 - 1.  Who cares about the EN goal.

Again, UPL was not the problem.

Sorry ... 6K was not the problem.

KA and his “yo-yo” season theme continue, only this time with players back and forth to the AHL.  Embarrassing look for the GM on talent evaluation for this team’s goaltending.

Agree.  UPL played well yesterday.

This is more what UPL is doing then what Levi is not doing. Levi could just as easily be the main man after All-star break. UPL was great before All-star last year, after he sucked. Why Comrie 5-1-1 and Levi 5-2 got to play chase for the Playoffs.

Levi can't sit this long, he needs games. If Adams wanted Levi to be the main man he would have gotten a Veteran to work with him. Instead he created a 3 man Competition.

I still am not sold UPL is the man, we were here last year. Club is at .500. We have Regressed this year. See how this all goes.

Adams to me is the Failure at this Point. He has LEFT more questions then answers moving forward

My opinion on Levi has nothing to do with UPL or Comrie. Making decisions for Levi based on the talent or lack there of in the big club is the problem.

The best thing for Levi is to be in Rochester. I don’t care if we only have a 50 year old Marty Biron on the roster.

We are not a serious hockey team. If this team can’t play Comrie in the odd game then what are we doing?

Levi should be in the A for the rest of the year. Ride UPL and give Comrie the rare start. Thats it.

No it’s the exact wrong thing to do.

Levi has played exactly three games in the month of January (2 NHL and 1 AHL) and probably gets His Fourth against the Ducks on Wednesday.
UPL will most likely get LAK and the Sharks on Saturday.

Which means a 22 yo goalie prospect will have averaged one start every seven days for the month of January including an 11 day stretch without any games played.

Levi said himself the hardest task to accomplish this season will be going from the workload he had in the NCAAs to the Pro Level, he is on track to play less games this season than last year.

Adams on multiple occasions has said the most important thing for a young goaltender is to play games.
When the people in the front office, who have been part of multiple championship teams, say Levi should be in Rochester then he should be.

Levi has not proven to be consistent enough to be in the NHL even as a backup, hell his save percentage was .823 last night for the Amerks.
This would be the fifth time out of his last six starts that His Save Percentage was less than .900.
UPL is the starter in Buffalo.
Levi should be the starter in Rochester and get the practice reps that come with that.
The Amerks will play a total of 10 games in the month of January, Levi should have gotten six or seven of those starts.

The biggest plus for Adams has been player development. Why the organization is messing around with its most important prospect makes zero sense.

Had they known Granato was going to play UPL all 4 of the final games of the home stand, then yes, Levi should've gotten an extra game or 2 down in Ra-cha-cha.  But, was that the plan prior to UPL pitching 2 back to back shutouts?  Really doubt it was the plan.  But, there's no way you're pulling a goalie out of the lineup that pitched a SO.  And, again, if Granato &/or Bales intended to give UPL 4 straight starts, then yes, 100% Levi should've gotten some extra action in Ra-cha-cha over that stretch.

He can bounce down to Ra-cha-cha when they get back from the road trip if it makes sense then.

Maybe Comrie is finally actually 100% healthy.  Didn't see his games down in Ra-cha-cha, but heard that he had a SO recently.  IF he is actually 100% healthy, that could change the calculus too.  Because, would trust him as the backup IF he truly is 100%.  He's an adequate backup when he is fully healthy.

Have been in favor of keeping Levi in Buffalo most of this season.  And were he still getting say 2 out of 5 starts would still be in favor of his being fully in Buffalo.  Since Levi came back up, until this past 4 game stretch of the home stand, UPL was NOT getting used as the clear #1.  Things have changed in this past week.  When things change, so should the plan moving forward.  If UPL remains the clear #1, and there is no reason at present to expect that to change, and hybridizing Levi isn't working, then alter that plan too.

Levi has proven that he is too inconsistent for the NHL as would be expected of a 22yo Goalie.
His development pathway needs to be completely independent from the Sabres Success or more appropriately the lack there of.
There are enough people around the league who are asking what the hell the Sabres are doing with Levi and this organization does not get the benefit of the doubt with their goaltending.
The Seattle Game should have the final straw and he should have been sent down.
The Amerks have played five games including last nights since that game, He should have played quite a few of them.

Am expecting that come the AS break, they'll be following the course that you've been advocating for.  We'll see soon enough.

Comrie has much better GAA and Save Percentage in the same number of games as Levi in the AHL

But as you can attest that’s fools gold when it comes to the NHL

You’d think then they’d feel they have plenty of statistical backing to go with a decision to let Levi develop in Rochester, pointing to Eric’s better AHL numbers as reason he should be up.

How they are moving the goalies around just seems admittedly confusing to me. I guess it’s kind of what I was talking about, they feel Levi gives them their best chance to win, when a backup is in? But you’ve sort of talked me away from that stance to be honest and I more less agree with you at this point so..unless there really is some sort of agreement between Levi and the team to play at the NHL level.

Adams should have an account here detailing this to us or at the very least be live tweeting about his thought process as much as other notable celebrities

I’ll confess that I was not expressing a lot of concern over the goaltending situation, forward depth, special teams play, and the more intangible things like toughness and experience, in the off-season. These were concerns, but after last season I just thought we were closer than we are. In hindsight I was wrong.

The Sabres had multiple areas they needed to improve. They opted to address one of those areas and improve their depth and experience on defence. In the other areas, including with their inexperienced coaching staff, they opted for internal growth and development.

While they can still jump back in it if they have a stretch like they did to end last season, it is looking increasingly unlikely that they will. They now look a little foolish for squandering developmental years for Levi and Benson (a bit less so for Ryan Johnson) on a season where they are looking like a bottom 10 NHL team again. Levi should just stay in Rochester.

While I am not a big poster around these parts -  I just have to get this off my chest...

What a ***** show our organization is.

It is 100% clear that they have no framework or identity to fall back on in any scenario - including development.

Leave Levi in Rochester to be 'part of a team', develop/learn...and practice/play as a starter.

KA and Granato are amateurs.
