OUR BOYS IN BLUE (er, Black and Red...I was informed after posting...Goat Heads tonight!) are back in the home barn to fend off the Habs and their fans who will be pouring over the border tonight.

Calling on the good people of Sabre Nation to buy Pegula Bonds to support the boys on the home front. OK, yeah, well, no, TP does not need our help.....maybe get some 50/50 tickets*?

*This event is subject to location requirements in order to participate. You must be 18 yrs and in NY to play.

Damn rules! OK, if you are not in NY today, pour a tipple and raise your ⚔️ in salute to the boys!

-----------

Going into the game:

  • Both teams are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games.
  • The Canadians enter the battle tonight at 11-12-3, 25 pts., having lost their last game 4-0 to LA.
  • The Sabres are looking for a 2 game winning streak with a victory tonight, entering the fray at 11-14-2, 24 pts., beating Basten 3-1 Thursday.
  • A win helps BUF jump MTL & PIT into 6th in the Wild Card chase....

Expecting Levi to post up with Comrie backing him up, as UPL is still on the mend from illness.

Buffalo Sabres

Rasmus Dahlin could return when the Sabres host the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; MSG-B, SN360, TVAS, CBC).

The defenseman did not play in the Sabres’ 3-1 win against the Boston Bruins on Thursday because of a lower-body injury.

"He feels better today, and this is going to be a 'How much better are you feeling each day now?' situation," coach Don Granato said Friday. "The other night he played through soreness and we're trying to manage it that way until it resolves to the point he's not playing with that. That's day to day, we'll see where he is tomorrow. He's a possibility for tomorrow."

Goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who is dealing with an illness, will miss a second straight game. Devon Levi was called up from Rochester of the AHL and made 29 saves in the win for Buffalo.

"'Upie' is not a possibility for tomorrow," Granato said. "He did skate today. He's still recovering and he's in a day-to-day category. This will resolve in being gone, an illness. But it's a day to day now and he will not be back tomorrow in any capacity for backup or starting."

Granato would not say if Levi or Eric Comrie would start Saturday *. -- Heather Engel

*Editor's note: Start LEVI.

I would not be surprised if Comrie has played his last game w Sabres. If they waive him and someone picks him up.... good on ya bud. If not, ROCH has some nice areas to live, and remember to download some movies for the bus rides.

I'm expecting Cozens to break out soon.  The JJP, Benson, and Cozens line has been buzzin, and it's just a matter of time before Cozens luck turns--the time is now.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Benson is a surprisingly good forechecker. Don't know if the line survives together when the injured players return, but all three of those guys are good

Specifically, Quinn’s return, since it was his spot. Either way, one of Quinn and Benson will need a line, which is a good problem to have.

Appears to be a Hockey Night in Canada and SportsNet Regional Game.  The leaves from the Great Satan are always the National Game.

All the HNIC games are national now.   Long gone are the regional breakdowns.
Leafs will be national on SN, Sabres national on CBC and SN360, Senators national on City.

  • Thanks (+1) 1
