Porous Five Hole
I support this. I had a sneaking suspicion that he might move upstairs to a role of President of Hockey Ops at some point due to the complications with Kim’s health…and this extension doesn’t preclude that. But, to me it shows that KA wants to be the GM and I’m onboard.
Popular Post Pimlach
Well earned. Adams had to tear things down first, but he now appears to be moving things in a much better direction then his predecessors. Team play improved Coach selection improved Lots of new prospects added Better development plan for the prospects he inherited Culture improving We need this. Continuity and consistency. 9

Forton’s tearful remarks about Adams show how far he has brought this organization. I think the next few years will finally be very fruitful. 1
JujuFish
Love to see it. This has been the most fun Sabres team to watch since the Regier era. Being a home town boy is just icing on the cake.

And a GM with one year left and feeling his job may be in jeopardy would likely make decisions to increase his chances for that one season at the expense of sub-optimizing plans for years 2 and beyond. (Ex., trade high end prospects for immediate improvement). Edited September 21, 2022 by JustOneParade omitted a number

GoPuckYourself
As another poster stated, Fortin was all I needed to see that we are moving in the right direction. Losing has to weigh heavily on those who are super competitive and it looks like we're finally steering this ship in the right direction. nfreeman
I like it, not so much due to being convinced that KA is the right guy -- I think he is but until they start making playoff runs consistently I can't be sure -- but because it makes a statement about KA and the franchise, both internally and to the rest of the NHL. The statement is that ownership believes in KA and the direction of the franchise, and he's backing that belief with (presumably) significant cash, and as a result the franchise is going to be stable, professional and on an upward track. Now KA just needs to make it so. 1

The Bills are there, hopefully the Sabres are getting there.

Pretty sure he was starting his last year under contract (it was a 3 year deal originally, right?). You going to wait until after the season and he's a free agent to negotiate with him? There is no downside to this other than it costing the Pegulas more money should he not be able to continue the rebuild. Don't care about them wasting a few bucks if in fact they did. Jury's out on that but expect they didn't.

Kevyn Adams has been exactly the same as Tim Murray and Jason Botterill. The numbers don't lie. Thanks for digging that nugget up. So you want him fired too because your boy Botterill got canned after refusing to restructure the scouting department? You didn't answer the question of are you fine having Adams become a free agent at the end of this season & THEN negotiating a new deal with him? Because, either he gets a new deal now or after he holds all the cards should the Pegulas want to re-sign him.

Your point makes no sense. These guys didn’t all start at the same point and it isn’t just about numbers it is about building and running an organization the right way. Murray was fired because he was an a&&hole on top of not being great at his job. Botts made bad hires and didn’t build the organization. Adams walked into an awful situation with no experience and has made chicken salad so far out of chicken sh$t. The Pegulas trust him and want him around. 2 2 1
