I am telling you with the schedule coming up, I think it's safe to say we are in the "Lose for Hughes" sweep-steaks or are going to get into the top 5.

You're not wrong... Even for an average team, their remaining schedule would be tough.  For our bunch of cupcakes, they could potentially lose em' all

Here is some perspective.  My oldest is going to graduate next year.  Unless one of our teams does something next year which is unlikely, he would of gone from 1st grade to Graduation never seeing either Buffalo major sports team with a playoff game/series, let alone a championship. I would imagine we have a lost generation.  That is astonishingly bad.  We must have the worst sports teams of all time.

So glad once again I didn’t get suckered in and purchase a package to watch this pathetic excuse of a team.   As much as I hate the canes they have risen far better than us this year and they really don’t have solid goaltending but okay with intensity and heart.   Will keep watching online streams for rest of this season which is right now in the dumps.

They are on pace to do that if this continues...

Unless you're suggesting that they lose out, then no, they are not.  They already have more points than the majority of last-place teams since the 2004-05 lockout and still have 23 games left.  In the last 5 games, they are a pathetic 1-4-0.  Even if they continue that pace for the rest of the season, they will have more point than every last-place team since the 2004-05 lockout.  Ottawa needs to make up 14 points in 23 games, but in the last 10 games ... the Sabres have GAINED a point (3-6-1 vs. 3-7-0.)  In fact, if Ottawa keeps up their last 10 pace and the Sabres lose out, they would be basically tied (Ottawa's pace would give 62.8 points.)

I'm not saying that it's impossible, but they are not "on pace" to do that (it's bad practice to project a trend from three data points, especially since they were 3-1-1 in the five games before those three.)

While they have been extremely frustrating to watch in '19, they were fun to watch in the 1st 41 games - they were on pace for 100 points & a playoff berth.

17 points in the next 20 (chalking up TB as a regulation loss) stinks. But they WERE entertaining. Baby steps (sadly).

It’s actually written “with”, not win ? So my original reply is upheld. ?

This one could go all the way to the Supreme Court of SabreSpace, should someone start the litigation. (I am available to rule from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today.) As per usual, bribes will be accepted via PM.
