I just don't like his music. And I truly believe he is a righteous dude.

You and Josie are cut from the same cloth. I'm not a Bruce fanatic but she straight up doesn't like his music. Which I can understand, because there is a ton of music out there that is absolutely better.

I liken Bruce to Gord Downie. They're both polarizing singers. But knowing their music is crucial to understanding the countries they come from. Bruce is to the American identity what Gord was to Canadianity.

Speaking of Glam:

Mott the Hoople: All the Young Dudes.

Totally different song. Mellenhead's is him recollecting adventures from his youth in (or, more specifically, outside) a townie bar.

No kidding. I like the Runaways Cherry Bomb better. I’m not a Mellencamp fan. He tried to pick up my girlfriend at a bar in Bloomington right in front of me. Not cool.

I think of All the Young Dudes as a Bowie sing, but he wrote it for them and they released it first.

I guess I just hate America.

The Damned did an awesome cover of Ballroom Blitz.  I vote for that one.

Also, was Fast Car not by Tracy Chapman?

It was. Totally biffed on her name.

Bummer of a story. Assuming that was pre-heart attack for him. Supposedly, ge toned down the d-baggery significantly after that.

And, yeah, AtYD is a Bowie song, but Mott's version was better & the standard. Kind of like Blinded by the Light's definitive version was Manfred Mann's take on it, not the author's version.

I haven't seen these yet, and frankly it's very tough for me to pick just one song for each of these, so I wont:

Scorpions - The Zoo/Wind of Change/Still Loving You

Dio - Holy Diver/Rainbow in the Dark (but honestly every song on Holy Diver is good)

Iron Maiden - Where Eagles Dare/Flight of Icarus/Be Quick or Be Dead

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Ramble Tamble/Run Through the Jungle/Long As I Can See The Light (For my money Cosmo's Factory is one of the best, most complete albums ever made. Ever.)

for funsies

Jackyl - The Lumberjack

YES!!!!! Ubrite. Be careful of Sabel79 though, they're on a rampage

Quick question:  What genre would you put Van Morrison in?  Rock?  Pop?  Folk?  Jazz?  Seriously, dude is all over the place.

Jazzy Rock maybe, most under rated artist of all time
