Sabres Pick #37 Marcus Davidsson

Eleven

Recommended Posts

I thought we took him 7 picks too early!!  Someone tell me what's going on!!

you can look at his rankings here http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=240720

All David's are good.

Connor McDavid. David (and Goliath), Dave Franco.

Adding a David is smart. BDA.

David Farrance...

What's going on: We took two players essentially where they were projected and... THE SKY IS FALLING!

;)

We didn't get D

everyone know you're suppose to just let players fall and hope no one else picks them up so you can pick them in the next round.

Wait until you see what we get back for Evander Kane before assuming that the organization needs defensemen. In the meantime I think we take BPA and (assuming they turn out as projected) those guys can be flipped for future organizational needs (e.g., defensemen) as necessary. IMHO, it's all about acquiring assets at this point.

Someone wake up Weave and tell him we need him to explain BPA for everyone again today.

Don't worry, JBott himself explained BPA very clearly. From TBN:

""If there's a fit, we'll make that selection for a defenseman or a goaltender but we're not going to force it," he said. "... If there's another good center man tomorrow in our early picks, we're probably going to select him. if it's close, then we'll probably lean toward a defensemen.""

Clearly, "BPA" is not blind to position. That is, position plays a roll in the player picked, but it is not the determining factor for drafting a player.

Kas, this is a great catch.  I'd didn't hear him say that.

But why did he reach so much for the D in the 3rd and 4th?  Just once I'd like to see a team's actual player list.

His scouts argued for the kid the in the 3rd. I think he wanted to show faith in them.
