Someone who knows Polish can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ted Nolan is now the coach of the Poland national team:  http://twitter.com/PZHLtv/status/884837981961506816

I see that he still has all those top notch organizations beating down his door. Seriously though, I always wonder how they handle the language barrier when I see guys like him getting these obscure foreign jobs.

He has to learn like, 6 words. Skate faster, work harder, hustle more...that's about it.

They use translators.

Hopefully not the one put out by Google.  It's not always your friend and only really works if you know some on the language that you are translating to / from.

I now have this vision of Tedislaus Nolanzcz screaming into his phone and holding it up to the players to speak the translation.

Not the most efficient approach mid-game where you might have a 10 second window to get your message across.

True, but it works across sports.  There are plenty of guys who come into the NHL not knowing much English or French, too.  Or at least there used to be.

[NEWS] #Canes, @Jslavin74 Agree on Seven-Year Extension → Details: http://n.carhur.com/2sPTTBG

There goes the last remaining shred of hope that they didn't know what they had in him and thus might trade him to us.

Only a $5.3M AAV? Gah! I don't have an issue with Risto's deal per se, but between the Lindolm deal and now this, I think there's a reasonable argument to be made that Risto got more than he should have.

Are we surprised Murray gave out too much money?

I agree, but only by a few hundred thousand, so in the long run, short of death by 1000 cuts, it doesn't matter.

Plus Risto had more leverage over us. We were poor defensively with him, imagine this team without him

I'm not sure why Slavin took that AAV. He's already worth 6 IMO, and has only played 2 seasons. Lots of room to grow.

No and I am starting to realize that firing Murray may have saved Buffalo because I think Murray understood the long term ramifications of contracts and the cap far less than Botterill does.
