Jsixspd
Crazy scramble there and the Rangers finally manage to put one home Miller would have made the stop! ;)
WildCard
Miller would have made the stop! ;) I'm more surprised the Rangers didn't get called with goal-tender interference. But then again this is the Pens, they're not quite the Bruins.

Iron Crotch
There is a fine line between a great play on one end and weak goaltending on the other. Great shot by Kane, but a better goaltender wouldn't have left that much net exposed on a bad angle.

He had some slickness getting around the defenders, and it's hard to roof a backhanded shot like that, granted a bad angle, but not many players are hitting the top short side corner there
Hoss
Well that escalated quickly. It was 3-2 when I came on here and now it's 5-2. There is a fine line between a great play on one end and weak goaltending on the other. Great shot by Kane, but a better goaltender wouldn't have left that much net exposed on a bad angle. Disagree completely. That was an impossible angle. Kane worked his way there and then made a really tough play to get the backhand that high that fast. A lot of goalies would've probably played it that way since he was on the backhand. He was probably thinking that he needed to cover any on-ice angle in case Kane just threw it on net hoping to find a hole. Also had to cover far-side post for the same reason. Kane found the only hole Bryzgalov left. There is always a hole that the goalie leaves when you work the puck down low. To stop the puck the goalie has to make sure he picks the right spot to leave that hole while covering all other areas and to score the puck-carrier has to find the hole. Anything else is a mistake. There is not a hole to shoot at from that angle if you cover the angle properly. Bryz was deep in his net and dropped his paddle to the ice for some reason (must have assumed it'd be a low shot). Better goalies would play that much differently. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/24549395/video-patrick-kane-scores-ridiculous-backhand-goal
JJFIVEOH
Nice job Bryzgalov completely giving up on the 4th goal. Not that he stood a chance, but he completely gave up on it. He didn't let up because he knew he didn't stand a chance, there wasn't enough time to figure that out. This guy doesn't have a future left in the NHL beyond this year. With the goaltender situation being so dire, I can still see Yeo benching his ass next game.
Jsixspd
That go-ahead goal by Kane was just spectacular. Not just the goal but the way he skated his way thru the defense of a 2nd round playoff team too, in order to make it! Chicago's 2nd goal - the backhanded feed by Saad right onto the stick of Hossa - was a thing of beauty too. I loved the way the seasoned Hossa immediately just pointed at Saad to say -"You da MAN!!!" When our Sabres can start making goals like either of these on a somewhat consistent basis - we'll know the Tank is over.
plenzmd1
So why in the world do they have the Habs- ruins game on at 12:30? Who is gunna inside when the est coast finally has decent weather on a Saturday. Must be aWiggles concert or something in the Garden this evening. Hope the highlights are good, will watch after golf and before the derby.
Eleven
So why in the world do they have the Habs- ruins game on at 12:30? Who is gunna inside when the est coast finally has decent weather on a Saturday. Must be aWiggles concert or something in the Garden this evening. Hope the highlights are good, will watch after golf and before the derby. The Derby is why. A couple of years ago, NBC cut some NHL coverage short to shift over to the Derby. People were unhappy. Now, NBC has enough room for a couple of overtimes.

inkman
I'll be the cro-magnon that asks WTF is going on in that pic? daniel paille, the one botched trade by darcy nobody talks about. .. It's been talked about plenty and it wasn't a botched trade. Paille was a first round bust, with the worse case of stone hands ever, that came with this rep of being a great hitter and picked his spots once every 20 games to actually hit someone. He wasn't going to live up to his billing in Buffalo because he was expected to be a top six forward. He was able to slide into a checking line role with Boston without expectation and fit in nicely. If anything it was a case of botched draft position.
