Hoss
I don't really know where I would put this, but my girlfriend just asked me this question and I guess I have no legitimate answer. What do you guys think? Is it over a million?
notwoz
It's probably fewer than there were at the end of last season. Just a hunch.
Drunkard
I'll go with way more than they deserve at this point. If I could let the rational part of my brain control my emotions I would have given up on this team on 7/1/2007. Unfortunately I have a blind loyalty to this organization that defies rational thinking.

BlueNGold
Just Wikipedia it. Says 1,142,875 and 1/3. There you have it.
HopefulFuture
Yes, there is over 1 million. Wiki may say what it says, is it correct? I don't know. What are the variables used in their calculation?
neverenough
I'm in K-Falls Oregon and love the Sabres! I'm just one of many.

Nitro60
I traveled alot around the US while in the Army. There are plenty of Bills and Sabres fans out there. Most are ex WNY types. I would say outside WNY half a million fans. Have a small group (100 plus) here in Indy of ex WNYers and they are more Bills fans but Sabres are followed. Sabres Fan in NS
Why only the US? Canada = ? ... there are a number of Canucks on this board. Probably in the thousands anyway. I am one of two board members (not counting Aud, who really isn't in NS) from NS. How about Europe ?

darksabre
I don't think there is any possible way to gauge this.
Trettioåtta
Guess it depends what you mean by fan. Without sounding too philosophical. Less than 300,000,000 and more than 100 is my guess
theesir
The only way to really answer something like this is to have everyone who is a fan raise their hand and then someone count... I'll start <<Raises Hand>>
PASabreFan
Gallup has done polling asking people if they're a hockey fan/if hockey is their favorite sport. That could give an idea of about how many hockey fans there are in the U.S. But how do you determine what percentage of hockey fans are Sabres fans? Giving each team 1/30th of the total would be a starting point.

SwampD
Just out of curiosity I went to Sabres' Facebook page. There were about 350,000 likes. By comparison, the NY Rangers have over a million.

Anybody have the Rangers' figure handy? :)
SwampD
Another fun fact is that the Sharls have over 500,000, but I have to believe that the percentage of their fans that also would like them on Facebook is near 100%. Whereas with Buffalo fans I'm guessing it is more like 7.8%.
