I have never seen either of them and would be a shame to say I never did before it's too late. Do you think they will be just awful or will there actually be some decent music to go along with the icons just being there? I've been to the Outlaw music fest the last two years and you will not be disappointed. Willie's voice is still strong and sounds great, and last year was the best live Dylan performance I've seen since 1996. 3 Quote

He looks kind of scary but seems to genuinely be a good dude; hell he was a YouTuber with a couple friends originally. Pittsburgh was total success. We were on a CBS station interview for a couple minutes and they wanted the whole toronto story. I brought the custom made hat to the Pitt show, frisbee tossed it next to Post and he picked it up and wore it the rest of the song 🙂 Mission Accomplished 1 2 Quote

Weave Posted Sunday at 12:33 AM Author Report Posted Sunday at 12:33 AM Static-X, Dope and Gwar tomorrow evening. Early dinner at home, cocktails at Ballyhoo, and then a few hours of metal to round out the day. I don’t think I am setting the alarm for Monday morning. Quote

And a great crowd. Not really the metal crowd I was expecting. More of a party crowd. They were wild and having a ball. Nothing but smiles in the mosh pit. And Gwar is some weird ass ***** live. Like probably the weirdest thing Ive ever seen live. 2 Quote
steveoath Posted Monday at 05:07 AM Report Posted Monday at 05:07 AM Saw The Get Up Kids last night. Playing “Something to write home about” in full. Was most enjoyable. Quote

Wish I had checked this thread, would have kept an eye out for you. Great show, can't believe how good Static-X still sounds. The tribute to Wayne during Cold was very nice. GWAR was wild. Going to be thinking about the video from that Lot Lizards song for a while... 2 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted Monday at 03:31 PM Report Posted Monday at 03:31 PM Spent the weekend in Central NY for two Avett Brothers shows at Beak and Skiff. And lemme tell you something. That Beak and Skiff venue is really something. I can't say enough good things about the facilities they've put together. I will look forward to returning for more shows (likely the Avetts in 2027). It involves a weekend-away type plan for people in the 716, but it is well worth the effort. Bonus/value added: We stayed in a cottage in the woods of Cazenovia. The cottage is on the same plot as the owner's home -- so a VRBO/Air BnB, but the good kind (since the owner is present and invested). We also kicked around the Village (of Cazenovia) and found a very nice hike to do on Saturday during the day. I was heretofore unfamiliar with the towns and villages that populate that Fingers Lakes stretch of Route 20. Rolling hills, etc. Just beautiful. 1 Quote

Ahh *****. You were there too? I def would have hunted you down. We were maybe 30’ from the center-right of the stage. Right on the edge of the circle of moshers. A beer cup was definitely in jeopardy of going down in that spot! Yeah that video was disturbing LOL. From what I have been led to believe it is a poorly kept secret that Edsel is doing front man duties for Static-X with Wayne gone. So he had quite the night fronting Dope, getting his vocal chords some rest while Gwar did their thing, and then killing it with Static-X. Fun show for sure. Quote
inkman Posted Monday at 04:20 PM Report Posted Monday at 04:20 PM Just won tickets to see Sublime at CMAC in August. Now I gotta convince the wife to come with but she’s gonna have reservations as I’m gonna be a space cadet for the show. Quote

Simple Minds has this incredible lady drummer named Cherisse Osei. They also have a wonderful "backup" singer named Sarah Brown who did a great rendition of Book of Brilliant Things as part of our encore. Edited Monday at 09:16 PM by GASabresIUFAN Quote

TheAud Posted Tuesday at 10:50 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 10:50 PM (edited) I saw Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers on Sunday night at Red Rocks. They were the opener followed by Warren Haynes Band and then Big Head Todd & the Monsters. It was pretty entertaining. Of course he can't sing but he can carry a tune and has that personality. He had an 8 piece band with him and they were quite good. Basically, an awesome cover band. He did Like a Rolling Stone and Love the One You're With to end the 1 hour set and it had everyone on their feet singing. I think this was maybe their 3rd show in two years and they have 4 more (something like that). Murray called it one of the greatest nights of his life to perform at Red Rocks. He was smiling the whole time. Edited Tuesday at 10:51 PM by TheAud Quote
