I come here more than TBD now.  10 years ago that would never be the case.

I'm the same.

I have mentioned it before, but growing up I was a bigger Bills fan. From the time I was about 10 years old I had season tickets (with my father) and then when I got to my teens I started going with friends until I was in my middle-to-late 20's.  Never missed a Bills game. Hardly ever missed ANY NFL game on tv.  Played the video games, knew the roster, watched the draft, etc.

I'm not sure why, but right about the the time the Bills drafted Allen, my love for the Bills and the NFL started going down. No particular reason, no 'political stand' or anything like that. But I'm at the point with the NFL, and the Bills, that I just don't care anymore.  Last year I hardly watched any games (maybe 2-3 full games and parts of 2-3 more games), and this year, I doubt I'll even watch any unless I am home and have absolutely zero to do.

M&T Bank…if you use the ATM, it will not allow you to make two or more transactions without spitting your card out and start over after each one.  Have called numerous time asking for this to be changed…falling on deaf ears.

It’s because the bank doesn’t design or engineer ATMs. We buy them from a company like Diebold. Your beef would be the same with another bank or credit union.  😀

Well, you realize that they take their slogan "all the bank you'll ever need" seriously.  And, though you may WANT additional conveniences such as multiple transactions within a single ATM transaction you don't NEED that.  And they don't give you one more thing than what you need.  (That's the unspoken part of their motto.  All the bank you'll ever need and not one thing more.)  They are quite the utilitarian bank.

This made me chuckle out loud because I forgot about that slogan. M&T has been “understanding what’s important” for a very long time now. Source: Me, I work there.

This conversation annoyed me.

Wife: Eliza fell out of her crib this morning.
Mother-in-law: How did she do that?
Wife: She climbed out.
Mother-in-law: Obviously.

You asked the stupid question.  You don't get to respond with attitude (trust me, it was there) when you get the blatantly obvious answer.

for me - it is far more of a first-world NFL problem. I am actually nervous about the Bills living up to expectations, so watching the games is WAY more gut-wrenching.

Back in the days when the Bills were Cheatriots punching bag ... hang out with friends at a Bills bar, eat wings, drink beer, cheer/cry.

During the Kelly days - I was still in middle school / high school so I dealt with stress better, lol. I did stay home from school the day after "wide right". But I think half the school did.

Interesting.

Wondered why you chose a character who's supposed to be a Yank played by a Brit; starting to make sense now.

Suppose being a Scot is close enough.

Is this the most "foreign" post ever on this forum?  At least one that used "English"?

Still working on the status of my van...  gotta find a new insurance company.  Not sure any will be better but over the past few years Allstate seems to have really gone down hill.  There are other reasons not to like them as well.

Kinda sounds like something we talked about on this board...I think a few years ago.

There are really 2 ways many of us enjoy a season as a fan of a team:  Winning the Championship, or beating expectations.

Only 1 team wins the championship, so that leaves the 2nd...beating expectations. With the Bills, the ONLY way to beat expectations is to win the title, and there is no way they can even do that until the night of the Superbowl.

It was an attempt at self depreciation (poorly), meaning that most would complain about me being here more.

Bought an Amazon gift card from our local grocery store.   Turns out part of the claim code (under the sticker) was intentionally scratched off so my Dad couldn't redeem it.

So apparently the scammers take the gift cards off the rack, carefully remove the stickers, record the claim codes, scratch it off the card so the buyer can't redeem it, then glue the sticker back on, return them to the store and wait for some poor bastard (me) to activate it.    They probably have a script running which is constantly checking the claim codes and redeem them almost immediately after activation.    Quite clever actually.

The grocery store won't refund or replace the card as "all gift card sales are final".     Amazon won't help as I didn't purchase the card from them and they tell me that card has been redeemed.

That's the last time I buy gift card from a store.

Dayum.  That's the usual Christmas present for relatives that we don't really see often enough to know what they'd really like.  Might have to start going with the old standby of cash.  It's always the right color but they usually aren't thrilled with the size.
