  1. Grigorenko is out injured so he won't be called up this week. He could be back this weekend tho.
  2. Forsberg had a .927 sv% in 27 games last season in the AHL. He currently sits at .864 with CBJ, but he's played < 200 minutes. That's a bit over 3 games of puck. A former teammate of Sabres prospect Linus Ullmark and Gustav Possler, he's due to find his form tonight :)
  3. a few more motivational quotes for the Sabres tonight..... "Today I won't do what others do, so tomorrow I can't do what others can." "If it's important to you, you won't find a way. If not you'll find an excuse." "Winners quit when they're tired. Losers don't quit when they've lost." "Bad players inspire themselves, Terrible players inspire others."
  4. I think Pysyk will be gone at the deadline or draft. He's not physical enough for GMTM's liking on the back-end. Sounded like he prefers McCabe, the more physical player. If Buffalo lands in the #3 spot, look for a trade down to somewhere in the 5-6 range. I would expect a 1st in 2016 to also come the Sabres way in that deal... the 2016 Auston Matthews draft where the top 3 picks are decided by lottery, will also be a very good draft at the top end. Matthews is putting up the exact same numbers Eichel last season with the NTDP.... and he's identical in stature at 6'2 194lbs. There's some talented wingers at the top of the 16' draft, Chychrun, Benson, and Jones, which is a position of need for Buffalo.
  5. Maybe Enroth and Neuvirth are just products of the Sabres defensive system? Enroth's save% in 3 appearances with the Stars is .865... compared to .903 with Buffalo this season. Giving up tons of shot from everywhere increases your save %. Nolan's d-zone strategy seems like he tells players to play off guys, don't play them too tight putting yourself in a position to get beat. Keep a large gap between yourself and the puck carrier such that he can't beat you to the net. However, this results in inflated shot totals for the opposition as this creates more opportunities to shoot.
  6. Why is Forsberg playing!? Its not a back to back and McIlhenny had been red hot. This makes no sense. Pure tank move by CBJ.
  7. Did GMTM really utter the word "McEichel"?
  8. If somebody gives up a 2nd for Neuvirth, he'll be gone.
  9. Neuvirth singlehandidly robs the Sabres of a precious point against the worst team in the league. What an . I figured things would tighten up at the top of the standings in Feb. However with only 5 home games over the next 5 weeks, and the trade deadline looming, they should find themselves at the top of the CHL for the final week of the season.
  10. Plent of time left to pull this one out.
  11. The following facts help me relax.... The team finishing with the worst goal differential has finished dead last 15 of the past 16 seasons. BUF at -89 is about 30 goals worse than any other team. Buffalo plays only 4 home games in March and will be without Stewart and Neuvirth after March 2nd. Short term things may tighten up a bit, but down the stretch there will be separation.
  12. No one ever said this was gonna be easy. However, BUF has an easy schedule to close out Feb. They'll solidify their roster come March 2nd by moving Stewart and Neuvirth as they make a run for The Shart. I'm feeling a Shart Fever coming on... Who's with me!?
  13. Neuvirth will be gone in 10 days.
  14. More importantly we should be guessing is when they'll be mathematically eliminated from finishing any higher than 30th place. Using very fuzzy math, I'll guess April Eleventy Twelvth.
  15. Like the NHL, in the CHL you can only "gain" points by playing a game. So game's in hand is a good thing... it's just that you want the team to win instead of lose those game's in hand. Or lose instead of win, not sure, yeah that it's.... you want the team to lose, no wait... you want them to win instead of.... awwww it.
  16. If they have nothing to hide, then televise the process, or atleast make it available on their site to watch after the fact. We know they pick 4-5 balls to get a number, but I want to see the number-to-team chart BEFORE the balls are selected. Imagine the drama as the balls come up.... first ball... "Still in it!"... second ball.... "Yes, still alive!".... third ball "".
  17. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Atlantic/Buffalo.html 0.0002% chance at this point. If they go 25-0, they have a 2% of getting the final WC spot. With 25 games left they can finish at most with at most 86 points. Boston is at 65 points currently. So that's a 21 point differential, or about 11 games. I'll say they're eliminated after 7 more games, which is around March 6th. The Buffalo Sabres will be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs after games are complete on March 6th.... final answer.
  18. It really bothers me that the NHL draft lottery draw isn't made public. Who really knows what they're doing behind closed doors.
  19. Nice OT loss for BP Oil. BUF at PHI tomorrow... Then its NYR, NSH, CBJ, VAN, FLA. Could be a nifty winning streak to close out Feb. Every point is huge as EDM has an extremely weak schedule coming up against CHL bottom feeders.
  20. My temp is 98.รณ although feeling like a fever may be coming on.
  21. Bag of cheap double edge plastic razors from Walmart lasts me a year. If you dry the blade after each use they will last a long time, 15-20 shaves per razor and I can grow a full beard. Save a ton of money doing this.
  22. No doubt he gets moved. He's an UFA trying to play his way into a nice contract for next season. Prolly don't get more than a 3rd for him but a rotation of Lindback and Hackett down the stretch will ease my mind.
