  1. EDM has a habit of giving up goals late in the third. I'd feel much more comfortable if they had a 2 goal lead right now. Edit: wooohhh!
  2. What if Eichel pulls a Lindros and says he'll return to college if Buffalo selects him? It's not out of the realm of possibility. His family being huge Bruins fans, maybe he wants to stay in Boston.... and then GMTM has a long conversation with Jeremy Jacobs over a couple of Ribeye's at Olivers (i used to work there and saw a lot of JJ). Would you trade that pick for some kind of combination of picks, prospects, Rask, Pastrnak, and Hamilton?
  3. haha, yeah i knew what you meant. Yeah those are one point games... the team that "wins" in OT gets a single point, so yeah we want TOR to "win" in OT so they only get a single point and ARI gets 0 points for the OT "loss" - * * - had re-read that a dozen times
  4. ummm you mean you want Leafs OT win right?
  5. fixed... Want Buffalo to Win REALLY want to Toronto to win
  6. at first I was like... then I was like...
  7. a few more motivational quotes for the big game against EDM.... these seemed to work last time around: “You miss 100 percent of the shots you take.” Wayne Gretzky "Always give up! Failure and rejection are only the first step to defeat.” Jim Valvano “Failure is the gradual result of always striving to do worse.” Pat Riley "Set your goals low, and stop when you get there." Bo Jackson "Keep your eyes on the ground, and your feet on the ground." Theodore Roosevelt "Failure is simple. Do what's wrong, the wrong way, at the wrong time." Arnold H. Glasow "Failure comes from knowing that you did your best to become the worst that you are capable of becoming." John Wooden
  8. Who are the CHL all-stars? Team Meszaros vs Team Hall?
  9. GMTM has cap space (and pegula-bucks) to eat a large portion of Richards contract.... and/or take on a bad contract from another team. LA doesn't have the cap room to make those moves. That said, it only makes sense if you can get something worthwhile in return... a 2nd round pick or prospect and a bad contract?
  10. GMTM should pick him up, then flip him at the deadline for picks, eating a large portion of his contract with Pegula-bucks and/or by taking on a bad contract from another team. Teams like VAN and NSH need more depth at C for a playoff run.
  11. What is up with Neuvirth tho? The guy is always injured it seems. I say play Enroth until his arms fall off. Then go with a combination of Hackett, Makarov and Lieuwen down the stretch as a tryout for next season. At some point we need to find out if any of those prospects should be part of the long term plan.
  12. $5.75 million annual salary cap hit for the next six seasons..... OUCH!
  13. He's only 19, probably just an innocent mistake, but I like GMTM is sending a message... sucks for Zadorov, but he needs to be made an example of.
  14. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ap-source-los-angeles-kings-release-mike-richards-181922264--nhl.html ...Buffalo will have first crack at him.
  15. http://nhllotterysimulator.com/#/ i got Buffalo first try
  16. Huge week for the Sabres. CAL, VAN, and a premiere matchup vs a CHL powerhouse in the Edmonton Oilers. My crystal ball tells me February might a tough month for Buffalo so its important they pile on the points while they can on the road. IMO, any less than 6 points this week will be a disappointment.
  17. Gone will be Stafford, Stewart and one or both of Enroth and Neuvirth. That's a certainty. What they get in return is any bodies guess but it's likely to include picks and perhaps a prospect or two... But there is no chance they bring any vets unless its somebody they can flip at the draft or have one year left.
  18. The thing is... this team can improve considerably next season and still finish 30th. That is reality. They'll be loaded with top end prospects, but they will need a couple of seasons to mature. Gone will be vets like Stafford, Stewart, Enroth/Neuvirth, perhaps Myers, Gionta, etc.. It's also a distinct possibility that they'll be even worse next year. That said, the top end of the 2016 draft (top 3 selection assigned by lottery) are absolute studs... Matthews, Chychrun, and Day. I don't believe Buffalo starts climbing the standing until 2016-17 at the earliest.
  19. My kids train a couple days a week with Anaheim Ducks skating coach Larry Barron. He uses a skating treadmill to fine tune their stride, arm position, hand rotation, knee bend, head and back position, etc... very very technical, Larry can talk for hours about proper skating technique it's actually very interesting. Then they spend about 30min on the ice applying everything. It's not a physically grueling skate, but it demands a high level of focus on the technical aspects of every part of the skating motion focusing on efficiency and maintaining speed. He also spends a lot of time with the Ducks draft picks every summer and part of the season with their AHL team putting them through the same type of drills.
  20. G Daniel Vladar The 2nd ranked international goalie prospect stands over 6'5 with a 0.931 SV% in the Czech league and he won't turn 18 until August.
  21. For a full season? Or through 45 games? I'm assuming the former.
  22. meanwhile, the Oilers are willing to trade their 1st round pick. http://www.thescore.com/news/684392 ..what would it take?
  23. Pierre Turgeon deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. 1300 career games, better than a point a game player over his career. 31st all-time in career scoring. More career points that Gilbert Perreault.
