  1. No, not to protect the sanctity of the ASG, that's just dumb. He should've declined to give a more deserving teammate a chance to go, literally anbody else on his team was more deserving of that spot, but he had to be selfish and take it from a guy like Shane Doan who has given his heart and soul to a hockey town for his entire career, who may be on his final tour of the NHL... would've been a great honor for him to represent the Coyotes at the ASG. But no, let's give that honor to a big doufus like Scott, way to go NHL... I'm sure his teammates on the Coyotes respect him for that.... loser.
  2. Right, he should have declined from the get go and let a guy Shane Doan take part since he has very little time left in the league and he's much more deserving this season. Most hockey players are bros like that, but not John Scott. Yes, the NHL put themselves in this position, but the trade handled it for them... they had an out, but no... god forbid they piss off the fans who want to see John Scott at the all-start game... because there's literally dozens of them... DOZENS!
  3. Terrible, terrible move. So many more deserving players on ARI. Scott should've declined the invite from the get go, what a jerk.

I'll say they finish with 79 points in 27th (4th) place, which gives them a 58% chance of a top 5 pick. You're on.
  5. he has a NTC.... buying him out would save $2mil against the cap (for 2 seasons), but he wouldn't completely come off the books until the 2022-23 season. http://www.generalfanager.com/buyouts/321?day=15&year=2016

When Buffalo is on a hot streak, they jump up a few spots in the range of 25th place. When they're not hot, they're a bottom 2 team..... so they yo-yo between 30th and 25th. A 5th or worse place finish is all but guaranteed my friend.
  7. I can't speak for what they provide this team off the ice, but on the ice they're a liability. To me this is a huge failure on GMTMs shoulders. There are plenty of vets in the league who still contribute to the on ice success (Jagr, Campbell, Doan, Sedins, W. Mitchell, etc..).
  8. They need speed on the back-end, so I'm gonna say..... Risto - Barrie (pending RFA on team with financial issues) McCabe - Pysk Bogo - ???? Gorges, Franson, and Weber should be gone... if any of them are still around next season I'll be mildly annoyed, but not surprised.
  9. CJ in the cage... well deserved, but I have a feeling we'll see Lehnerd at some point during this game. Arizona has some firepower.
  10. It showed tonight what a difference it makes when you have defensemen who can win puck retrievals. It all starts with retrievals and first passes, Gorges is awful at both due to how awfully slow he his.

Sitting in 27th place after beating a terribly flat Capitals team with their all-world goalie laying an egg. Anything short of winning the Stanley Cup would be a huge disappointment.
  12. So... anybody miss Gorges?
  13. I went to the Caps game there last month when I was in town visiting. It's been probably 10 years since I've been to a home game. Something about the arena was depressing... just a dark environment in general, dark hallways, etc... and quiet as a library during the game. Not sure if there's just something off with the aesthetics of the building, or if it's just because the team isn't very good yet.

  15. Hardly seems fair, OEL is the best player on that team. It's 3-on-3, they should let OEL play.
  16. so, does OEL get in now?
  17. He's having a breakout year offensively. His skating ability is the something the Sabres are sorely lacking on the back-end. If I'm GMTM, I'm texting Joe Sakic once a week.
  18. A former 3rd pick, Barrie is only 24, I'd hardly call him established. He's a pending RFA on a team that will have some financial decisions to make as Nathan McKinnon is also a pending RFA. Erik Johnson's new $6mil/yr deal kicks in next season as well. I think Barrie could be had for less than what people think.
  19. ...he'll just have to wait for a trade.
  20. One Tyson Barrie plz.
  21. Nope. In the first 5 seconds of his press conference he says some guy named Robin Leonard is starting..... must be a waiver pickup we haven't heard about yet. http://video.sabres.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=928973&catid=1573 yes
  22. Shattenkirk heading the other way perhaps? And a guy like Fabbri or maybe Barbashev to play with the other Russians?
