  1. 17 year old defenseman rarely make Canada's world junior team. That, and he was born in Florida.
  2. He says that about all the UFA's... just a general yeah we'll offer them "something", and then proceed to give them a low ball offer and trade them if they don't sign.
  3. can't tell if that's a "HO HO!" or a "HOOOOO!"
  4. ROR is running on fumes. Hope he bounces back here soon. That said, Moulson with the hat trick!
  5. His "lack" of point production is no surprise considering he joined team who had one of the worst offensive seasons in NHL history (avg < 2 goals/gm). edit: OK, not "one of the worst" literally THE worst. The 2013-2014 Sabres are the lowest scoring team in NHL history at 151 goals (1.91 goals/gm). The 2014-15 Sabres are second lowest at 162 goals (1.96 goals/gm).
  6. no cookie set on your mobile device. anyway I like the current mobile experience.

    Tank 3.0

Disagree on Foligno. He's only 24. He has size and speed (when he uses it). He has much more upside than McGinn, I'm willing to give him another 2 years to blossom.

    Tank 3.0

still 3rd from the bottom https://www.talk.hockey/tank-tracker/ if BUF loses and EDM+TOR win, say hello to 29th place.
  9. ROR looks out of gas. Hopefully DB reduces his minutes the next few games.

    Tank 3.0

McGinn and Foligno are nice bottom 6 guys. If they can be had for reasonable contracts, they should keep them. It's not like they're going to be over the hill veterans by the time this team is a contender.
  11. They just signed him to a 5 year deal. A buyout would be too costly after just 1 year. They'll prolly give him another year before pulling the plug. Hopefully he get it figured out over the off season. Price is that good.
  12. The Third Eich
  13. Weber has been playing well. I've been a critic of his, but was surprised to see he'll likely sit this one out.
  14. fast: Eichel accurate: Kane hard: Kane breakaway: Ennis
  15. http://www.generalfanager.com/players/390 tl;dr he has 1 year left at 3.1 no thank you
  16. why no moulson?
  17. Prust is dust. want nothing to do with him.
  18. Enroth, McNabb and McBain
  19. Yeah, I wonder too. Would be nice to see them add the extra 5ft for an outdoor game. I have a feeling that's not too far away.
  20. You're talking about a 200x100 Olympic ice surface, 15ft wider than NHL, which is just too much space IMO. Olympic: 200x100 NHL: 200x85 hybrid: 200x(92-94) Burke: 200x90 In fact, the new arena in Detroit will have the ability to expand from 85 to 90ft as Ken Holland is a big proponent of the slightly wider surface.
  21. If that's the case, why wasn't he traded for Drouin?
  22. Compared to the 70s and 80s, today's NHL game is boring. Dump puck, chase, retrieve, pass back to point, cross fingers that shot finds the back of the net... wash, rinse repeat. Players are too big these days, there's not enough room on the ice, especially on zone entries where players need more room to skate around the defensemen. I like Brian Burke's proposal to make the ice surface 5 feet wider, but retrofitting arenas would be costly, or impossible in some cases.
  23. Buffalo is 3rd in points lost %, and has the 3rd worst goal differential. IMO Columbus moves out of the bottom 3 by the end of the season, leaving BUF, EDM, TOR in the basement. If BUF finishes 3rd last, they have an 86% chance of picking in the top 5.
  24. I don't. The only reason he is where he is, is because of his size. Thousands of guys with more skill and determination than John Scott, never even sniff the NHL. The fact he's making $700k/yr on a one-way contract makes him the luckiest man on earth IMO.
  25. Did he back out of the all-star game yet? I hear Ovi and Toews are non-participants because of Scott's presence turning the festivities it into a clown show when it should be celebrating the truly great players in the game today.
