  1. Nicely done. You're hired Mr. NHL Draft Lottery Commissioner. That said, what really really really really bothers me is the lack of transparency in the lottery process. From what I've been told (by the NHL): "Fourteen balls, numbered 1 to 14, are placed in a lottery machine. The machine expels four balls, forming a series of numbers. The four-digit series resulting from the expulsion of the balls is matched against a probability chart that divides the possible combinations among the 14 participating clubs." So when the numbers start coming up you will know if BUF is still in the running. Why not televise this? Why not make the probability chart public? Or at least make it available on-demand on NHL.com? What are they trying to hide!? WHO IS PICKING THE NUMBERS??!! WHO THE IS PICKING THE GODDAMN NUMBERS AND WHY CAN'T WE WATCH!!!
  2. I, for one, will not rest easy until The Shart is locked up. A few motivational quotes for the Sabres as they enter the final stretch. "The will to prepare is important, but what's more important is the will to fail." - Bobby Knight "I am not afraid, I was born to do this." - Joan of Arc "To be a good winner, is to learn how to lose." - Carl Sandberg "Always give in, and always give up." - Hubert H. Humphrey "If you think you can't do it, you can't." - John Burroughs Yeah, it's almost like they just made it up as they went down the list. "OK let's drop by 1%... good, OK, next, good, OK... wait, hold on, we're gonna run out of numbers, let's drop by 0.5%, OK, good, OK, next, hold on we have too many, let's drop by 1% again, OK, good, next, wait still too many, let's drop by 2.5% now, OK, hold on... wait not enough again, we'll go back to 0.5% OK, good, next...." Here's the way I would do it.... only the bottom 5 qualify for the lottery. Non-Playoff Team (Fewest Pts. to Most) - Draft Lottery Odds 1 - 99.9999% - Sabres 2 - 0.000025% - Coyotes 3 - 0.000025% - Oilers 4 - 0.000025% - Maple Leafs 5 - 0.000025% - Hurricanes
  3. Please wear the turdburgers on thursaday
  4. Holy ! yeah! Totes with the OT in loss! Woooooooo
  5. This is looking like the Stars game the other night. IMO, ARI has this one in the bag, they're experts at late game comeback victories.
  6. that log must be very very very long... i've been watching for over 2 hours and it's still going!

  8. I'm not saying BUF won't improve. They will improve, they'll be better, but you're talking about an improvement for team that is statistically an order of magnitude worse than the next worse team in the league. They'll be better, but that doesn't mean they're not still a bottom 2 team. Let me put it this way, which team(s) are you saying will be worse than BUF? ARI with McEichel? TOR with a new coach minus Kessel? CAR? CBJ? Even with all the additions you mentioned, the Sabres will still have the least talented team in the league.
  9. All Nolan said was "we'll see how he (Hackett) feels and then make that decision". So it's still up in the air. Sounds like they're setting the stage for something tank-a-rific. ie, if he can't go last minute, and Lindback pulls up lame in warmups... THE VINZ ?
  10. I would love that! If they have 30th wrapped up, they should hand out McEichel 2015 t-shirts to all in attendance. True story. I ran into Darcy in Phoenix a few weeks ago at my kids tournament. we were watching the Coyotes practice at the Ice Den in Scottsdale before my son's game. The smug look he had made me want to punch him the face. I said "hey Darcy! you tanking for McEichel?" he just gave me this wry smile and a wink before turning and walking away.
  11. This team is going nowhere next season. Think of how bad Buffalo has been since the deadline... 2-7-1... and one of those 2 wins they were severely outplayed (BOS). Without McEichel this team is easily a bottom 2 team next season. Talent wise, BUF is still far and away bottom of the barrel even with Kane in the lineup. It'll be a at least one more season before BUF starts their climb out of the basement. Will they tank next year? No. How can they get any worse? They can't. This is the bottom of the rebuild, and they'll improve, but even with some improvement they're still a bottom 2 team. Consider their CorsiFor % is 6.5 percentage points worse than the next worse team (37% vs 43.5%). That next worse team is 11 percentage points worse than the top team in the league. Bear with me here... so even if Buffalo improves their CF% by 50% of the 17 percentage point difference between them and the top team, that number improves to 37+8.5=45.5%, which would give them the 3rd worst CF% in the entire league. And with a huge question mark in net (no Enroth or Neuvirth to ride) they should be a bottom 2 team again.
  12. If BUF ends up drafting #2 they're taking Eichel, no question. If they draft #3, they may trade back a spot and take Strome. If they do end up with Strome, they'll be in the mix (IMHO) for #1 next season (Matthews). I know it sounds ridiculous to start looking at the 2016 draft, but the reality is if they don't get McEichel (and ARI does), they'll be right back in the mix for the top pick next season as well. Auston Matthews is bigger than Eichel and is putting up slightly better numbers than he did in the USNTDP as a 17 year old. He's the real deal. He's an Arizona kid, so I can imagine ARI doing everything they can to nab him next season. Imagine the fanfare if an ARI kid turns into a superstar in the desert. So that means if ARI ends up picking #2 OA and BUF #3 OA this year, there's a very real chance for BUF to trade up into ARI's spot (Eichel) if they put together a package that includes next years #1 pick. ARI will be bad next year with or without McEichel, so if they can grab Hanifin and BUF's number #1 next season to improve their chances at Matthews, then the deal makes sense and is a win/win for both teams.
  13. I suffered a mild stroke when Moulson scored to put them down one...but the Shart is strong in this team. Had a home depot bucket by the couch in the closing minutes. This game on Thursday should be a good old fashioned CHL barn burner. Huge that ARI cannot claim 30th with a regulation win. Even huger if ARI can somehow pickup a point tomorrow in DET. Cmon hockey Gods, you owe us!
  14. Damn another loss. Thought the Sabres had this one in the bag. Should be a W on home ice Thursday against the Coyotes.
  15. You're talking about hockey right? This is the GDT?
  16. I like Razor too, he has some interesting analogies. he said something about the Stars needing to "mow around the stump" tonight meaning the Sabres like to collapse in their own zone or something..
  17. Damn, Linbergh has to make that save there. Decent road period tho.
  18. The Dallas guy just called Lindback Hedberg and then Lindbergh before correcting himself.
  19. Just turned on the Dallas feed and hear ... "...the Stars are playing their best hockey of the season...." Here we go!
