  1. Interesting, thanks for that. Looking at the Sabres' remaining schedule I'm having trouble finding 8 losses in there. TOR, ARI, NJD, CAR maybe? I could see them losing maybe 5 games from here on out.
  2. ...I'm hearing Murray didn't care much for Stafford's workout regimen: http://video.sabres.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=124243&catid=668
  3. ...and it sounds like Enroth is half-way out the door already. Once he's gone, this team might not lose another game the rest of the season. Put a bow on The Shart.
  4. anybody listenting to the WPG radio guys? they're drooling over Stafford, lol
  5. I'm calling BS on all of this.
  6. You think he beats out Pysyk next year in training camp? I don't. Zadorov is still only 19. He's playing OK because he can keep up physically, but his game is mistake prone and lackadaisical at times. He'll be much better off having a longer leash in the AHL, playing 30min a game, PP and PK, instead of getting 15-20min/game in the NHL. Pysyk will be well seasoned and I expect him to have a big role with the Sabres next season. I expect McCabe to be more NHL ready by then as well... maybe even Ruhwedel. That said, with all the wheeling and dealing that's around the corner and probably at draft time, all bets are off!
  7. The Yotes are defying all odds and losing to inferior opponents. I think they're the team to watch down the stretch since they admitted to be in full tank mode several weeks ago. However, Mike Smith is playing so poorly of late they're losing to terrible teams like CHI and MTL on the road no less. The more losses they can pile up now the better. However, they have an easy stretch of games coming up, STL, SJ, NYR, COL, TB, while BUF has some tough matchups against PHI (twice) and NJ. I expect the 12 point gap to close to maybe 5 or 6 by the end of the month. That said, if BUF has a lead of any kind heading into MAR, this thing is over. BUF plays 9 of 13 on the road, while ARI starts the month with 6 straight home games and plays only 4 on the road in MAR.
  8. Zadorov doesn't belong in the NHL this year, and it's safe to assume he'll star next season in Rochester. There's still a lot he has to learn about the pro game and while he's physically ready, he needs to be playing 30min a game in the AHL to learn all the nuances of the pro game. I'd like to see him stay in Roch for the entire 15-16 season and then perhaps get a serious look in 2016-17.
  9. I've said it before and I'll day it again. Feb is a tough month. EDM on the road and BUF at home against some CHL powerhouses. But March, oh boy, just wait until March. Whay are ye so fearful, O Ye of little faith?
  10. You never like to see injuries, but if I'm GMTM I tell the troops to take pucks hard to the net and run over Halak every chance they get on Sunday.
  11. The Canadian accent drives me nuts. Buffalo is not a canadian team.... and his "Scoooorressss" is like nails on a chalk board. Luckily I live out of town with center ice I watch the opposition broadcast unless RJ is on.
  12. I like it. I'm not a fan of Doc Emrick. Would be nice to listen to Barry Melrose and Jojn Buccigross again.
  13. Trading Myers is a step in the wrong direction. Don't do it!
  14. <carrion speak="off"> The month of Feb will require a strong stomach as EDM is on the road for 6 straight and BUF has 8 home games against some weaker opponents. in March (post trade deadline) EDM has a 6 game homestand while BUF plays only 4 at home, and ARI plays 10 of 14 at home. If all goes according to plan, we'll have The Shart locked up by the time we have our home and home vs ARI. </carrion>
  15. We're on our way there. If anybody thinks this is bad, wait until after the trade deadline passes and they play 9 of 13 on the road in March. There are some lose-able games in Feb (PHI twice, NJD, CBJ, OTT). March is when the magic will happen... two games against ARI late in the month will be epic... assuming we're all still relatively sane at that point.
  16. The team with the worst goal diff has finished last 15 of the last 16 years. BUF is -85, 30 goals worse than the next team ARI. Combine that fact with our historically inept advanced stats, and it's almost an impossibility that BUF doesn't finish in last place. IMO the gap will only widden after the trade deadline.
  17. 14 game winning streak. It's a beautiful thing. Feb will be a tough month, but if they hit the trade deadline with a lead ain't nobody gonna catch them.
  18. is the Marriott open yet? i'm seriously considering a family vacation there later in the year.
  19. Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters faceoff against Kingston on the NHL Network tonight at 7pm ET.... followed by BUF/VAN at 10p ET. What are they trying say by stacking those games back to back?
  20. Next 5 VAN, MTL, STL, DAL, OTT. The only team I see them having a prayer against is OTT.
  21. Never underestimate the power of the Shart!
