Any guy who would actually utter those words is not long for this world. Natural selection will take care of him soon enough. Any guy who doesn't immediately change the subject when that topic comes up has no hope in the world of relationships. And this actually reminds me of what I wanted to complain about today. Yesterday the button broke off of my pants and I thought "uh oh, time to hit the gym", odd since my pants aren't tight at all. I went to pull the thread out from where the button used to be and I noticed that it was completely in tact. So I look at the button and see that the section between the holes in the button actually broke off. I feel like gyms should boost their business by flooding the market with with faulty buttons. There's so much potential here.

Yeah, I looked up his numbers and he did see some time in Washington over two seasons before he headed back to Europe. What I didn't realize is that he was only 19 when we traded Varada for him. I figured he'd be well into his 30s by now but he's only 29.

20 skaters dressed each game. That's a bit odd. edit: And hey, a Jakub Klepis sighting.

Let's face it, you're complaining about a guy who is listed at 13 in those rankings. I'd venture a guess that most teams don't have a prospect pool that has more than five NHL level guys on it, let alone ten or 13. If someone really is that far down on a list, you're looking at a 13th forward or a 7th defenseman. Sure, someone could step up and surprise, but my money would never be on the oldest guy on the list (or one of the three oldest, I'm too lazy to look up the birthdays). And looking over the list, the thought came to mind that I haven't heard much about contract signings for the 2012 draft class. If my memory is correct, Kea already got one last year. What about the rest of those guys? Has there been any talk of who will/won't get a contract?

I'm so angry about how people overreact and get so angry at things around here.

Yeah, I'm 100% sure that flag is the same exact size as the Sabres flag hanging in my office. Before I saw the picture though, I was kind of hoping that they'd screw up and actually have it flying higher than the US flag.

That's exactly what it is. "We really like the top 6 guys in this draft, and hey, we pick 4th!" The funny this is that since they probably won't see their players for two years, the fans will have already forgotten about these rankings by the time that player is a Flame.

You don't see too many second round playoff series having bets like that.

I wish I still worked out that way. I would have loved to see that.

The most interesting part to me is that the Cup lost to Boston is what kicked off Vancouver's downward spiral. Now they've taken the "if you can't beat them, join them" approach by poaching someone from their front office. I guess we'll get a better idea how much of Boston's approach can be credited to Benning. It all starts with the twins. What they do there will say a lot.

I originally read the bolded part as "an espn 10 highlight" and interpreted it as a Dodgeball type "the ocho" joke. I laughed.

Sitting up in the nosebleeds, that's going to be one hell of a throw. With our luck, the egg would land in front of Reinhart, he'd slip and fall, and wind up paralyzed.

Given what I've learned of your posting style over the years, I was expecting a much different shower joke there.

I think this goes right back to my question about Botterill. What exactly does the backup GM windup doing? Poille was the GM of that US team. Shero was just support staff. Who knows exactly how much he did there, as it has to be a very different setting than an NHL team's office.

You couldn't find any fun or danger in that chem lab? Clearly you've never watched Breaking Bad. Seriously though, good luck with the search.

I went to the one where we picked Kalinin, which must have been the year Lecavalier went #1. We (my brother and I) didn't even make it until the Sabres pick and instead caught it on the radio on the ride home. The only fun stuff was outside, anything inside the arena was a complete waste of time.
