Ok, I finally got around to reading it. Why does a column that is nothing more than a petty feud between the Snews and the team make it to print? I can't imagine why they would think people want to read this tripe.

Extra props to you if you go the extra distance and carve a tally of your victims into your skin.

And then you probably have a smart phone and probably another computer or tablet at home. That's a ton of reading options if you really need them.

Some players are exempt from homerism, such as Eichel for me. MacKinnon is one of them. That said, "best ever" is far too subjective.

I'm pretty sure PA will go with a Betty Page reference instead.

I'll clue you in on something. We have a running joke where PA is incredibly old. I'm pretty sure he built Stonehenge.

All I can picture right now is Homer Simpson's three hair comb over.

This post just goes to show that people as a whole won't remember the tanking at the end of the day. The Penguins didn't tank to get any of those guys. They tanked to get Lemieux... who you did not mention at all. Thank you. I really haven't noticed that the year end press conference is the universal approach either. But anyway, after a year like this one, isn't the press conference announcing the firing of the coach exactly that?

Did you see the history of the Hornets name while you were looking at that? Wait, why am I talking about bouncyball?
-
Well actually...

And the St. Louis one is essentially meaningless at this point. It now unofficially belongs to Winnipeg.

I'll chime in on Hanifin. BCs top guys do tend to stick around for a few years. They've had a lot of highly regarded 1st round guys, granted none as high as Hanifiin will go, and they tend to stick around for a few years. Combine that with the more steep learning curve for a defenseman and it does seem like a good chance that he'll stay at BC.
-
Your comment actually hints a bit towards a big part of their approach over the years though. They've shipped a lot of these guys away, trying to supplement the Crosby/Malkin/Letang core.

Kroenke has the Nuggets (for now). I want to say Leonsis owns the Wizards, but don't quote me on that one. I'm not sure if there are any others. edit: Does MLSE own the Raptors too?

As long as they don't screw it up like it seems Brooklyn is about to. I haven't seen anything about it in a while now, but if they really aren't going to have seats behind one of the nets, it will look really bad.
-
Maybe it's in the column, but I'd love to see something to back up the assertion that you quoted. That's quite the statement to throw out there as if it is factual and I have a hard time believing it. I didn't read it though, so maybe he does actually attempt to back that up. Maybe I'll give the column a chance later, but I have no interest in it right now.

The riots undermine everything else.

The problem with this cell phone video culture is that you only see the second half of any incident, but then people immediately pass judgement as if they saw the whole thing. And as for the thought that this is the logical response and that they need to let their voice be heard, since when is it logical to respond to an injustice by burning down the local CVS. Now grandma has a much harder time getting her medication and the young mother will have a hard time getting formula for her baby. You feel that your community is being hurt, so the logical response is to go out and damage your community. That's not logical, it's self-destructive. Whiskey, you mentioned that past reform came out of events like this. The problem I have with that is I don't get the sense that we have the type of dynamic leadership at any level that can make something happen.

And all this crap does is turn people against whatever cause might have had a chance of being listened to. It sucks for Gray's family, but this is now his legacy.
-
They have no goal in this. Don't kid yourself. All they want is to destroy something. If there's some idiot out there who thinks this actually sends a message, all it does is perpetuate this never ending circle of stupidity we have going.
-
I guess I didn't expect such ridiculous responses. There is no logic to that behavior. The people out there setting buildings on fire and stabbing holes in fire hoses are pure garbage who do nothing but set back all of mankind. They're not angry, they just want a free bag of Doritos.

That's what I get for posting in here

Does the picture also have a captain talking about Adam Wainwright when you go to the page too?
-
I don't know if that's serious or what it is, but I have no idea how to respond.

What if that goalie's eyes are too close together?
